The Remake-ament
Well, since Hollywood is officially out of original ideas and has decided to spew remake after remake at us, I figured it'd be a good chance to sift through the remakes to figure out which ones are actually worth watching.
32 Remakes are in this tournament. Please note... A remake is a film that is redone. Films like Dracula are not remakes because they are adapted from the same source material as the original film and not from the original film itself. Also, Evil Dead 2 is not entered in to this because it is not officially a remake. (Officially, I guess it's a sequel.) Anyways, 32 remakes, but only 1 winner. Which film is the best remake ever? Your votes will decide.... Also note, normally I set up my tourneys randomly, but since there are only 32 films in this one & I happen to have their box office figures, I set it up by seeding. (#1 seed = the movie with the top box office figures, #32 = the movie with the lowest.) It will run just like any other structured tournament with rated (seeded) contestents so #1 will face #32 in round 1, #2 will face #31 and so on. It will be interesting to see if the top 4 grossing films are also the top 4 popular films among the horror community. (My guess is no.) Anyways, without any further ado.... Round 1 - Match 1 #1.
