roach body count

give an estimate of how many roaches you sent to meet there maker over your lifetime.

id say maybe around a good 150, and my arsonel contained everything from sprays to those little black discs,..but my weapon of choice would have to be the old fashioned tennis shoe. it gets intense in the hood

alkytrio666 02-03-2007 08:03 PM

I'd say 62.

I live in Illinois, no roaches here.

I go to North Carolina once a summer, though, and boy do those things come out at night. Yipes!

Despare 02-03-2007 08:05 PM

Not a one, nice round number there Alky, have them logged?

Gus 02-03-2007 09:31 PM

wow thats pretty impressive that you havent encountered not one roach, you must live in a nice air conditioned house.

Master 02-03-2007 10:28 PM

When we were in Jamaica there were tons of cockroaches in the kitchen of our villa. Nasty little shits... I've never actually killed one, but we found one in our hotel room in Atlantic City and trapped it. As a result, we got the room for free and were upgraded to a suite for the night, so I guess he did me a favor.

1or 2.Usually when I see them they're already dead, but there are still alot of them,I hate those things.

Gus 02-04-2007 07:35 AM

make that 151. i found one in the sink and drowned it with scolding hot water

Demonique 02-04-2007 10:14 AM

Living in the Great White North here, I have never seen a roach. You may keep them, though, the little buggers creep me out. We have spruce bugs that are roach like but bigger and can fly.

Ugh...Why don't you call an exterminator?...I could never live with bugs in my house...We have a few spiders in the basement, but I can handle those...Anything else, and either they'd be gone or I would...

No...Way...In...HELL

Master 02-04-2007 01:48 PM

I haven't killed an insect in years.

Disease 02-04-2007 01:56 PM

I don't know for sure, but it would ne in the thousands!

crabapple 02-04-2007 02:16 PM

You should have seen this one place I lived in...the rent was dirt cheap, very agreeable in that respect. But man! A million cockaroachers, and two roommates who refused to do anything about it and forbade me to do anything about it. So many roaches, they would fall out of the kitchen cupboards when you opened them to get a packet of oakmeal or something. Literally. So one day I am feeling pretty silly and I go to the store and spend ten dollars on those fumigator things that you add water to and they steam up and give off this roach choker. A couple hours later, roachers are coming out of every little crack, out of the heating ducts, the fireplace, the kitchen, from under the furniture, everywhere. All running around like little maniacs, very unhappy about my roach fogger purchase decision.

Gus 02-04-2007 02:50 PM

yeah, i cant stand them. thats why i vowed to destroy and kill everyone roach that crosses my path.

Phalanx 02-05-2007 08:12 AM

Between various methods, easily over 1000...
Kill a roach with an egg-sac, and you've killed 50.
But yeah...it's a hot country with bugs aplenty...not saying I keep a filthy household at all, just that seasonally, the things WILL try and invade your house/apartment. You go away for a weekend, and they invade.
It's like they don't even need an obvious foodsource....they even eat cardboard n shit....breed like motherfuckers. Here, in the hotter times, if you're not using preventavie measures, they WILL invade.
I don't like killing anything, and feel bad about it...but, I will NOT have my kitchen, bathroom or bedroom used by anything but humans.
That said, no need for an exterminator unless you've got termites or something IMO, roaches are easily dealt with.

I read that they even eat the plastic coating on electrical wiring, and can cause people's houses to catch fire that way...And for water they can live off of the condensation on cold water pipes...It just seems like they're so resourceful, that they'd be really difficult to get rid of...

Oh...ANTS!...When my daughter lived here with her cat...The ants would come in EVERY summer and make a trail to the cat food...Each year we only had to throw a couple of ant disks around (one behind the armoire that the cat food dish was sitting next to, and one in the crack of the kitchen door where they were coming in), and they would disappear until the next year...They were the kind of disks where the ants would go in and get the stuff all over them, and even CARRY the stuff in their pincers, take it back to their anthill, and the entire anthill would be wiped out in just a few days...Less than a week...

Phalanx 02-05-2007 08:29 AM

Don't get me wrong, the more food/dirt you leave about the more will come...but yeah, those around here will come and feed on household type stuff, in ADDITION to food.
It's disgusting seeing them around the place...they bother me.

i'm pretty sure that roaches need food ..

Food?...A roach can live and reproduce for up to 7 days without a HEAD:eek:

Ugh...I don't think I'll read anymore about this subject...But...Thanks for the brief interlude...It was DEFINITELY a new topic for this forum...That doesn't happen often

Yuck

Vodstok 02-05-2007 08:30 AM

Interestingly... i have never killed a roach in my life, and have only ever seen 2 of the kind we have as vermin in the US. No kidding. i have seen plenty of the hissing roaches in pet stores, but that is about it.

Havent heard of any fires...but I can see the potential.
They go where it's warm, like into electrical appliances...etc.
Gross.

crabapple 02-05-2007 08:49 AM

The Beverly Hills cockroachers are incredible.

I saw a family of cockroaches that used to eat the cat food left outside. These roaches would actually grab whole pieces of dry cat food and carry them away! They would be struggling with these things and moving slowly. Obviously it was difficult to lift the cat food pieces with their front flippers or whatever. But they did it. And I had tremendous respect for them afterwards...such tenacity!

Gus 02-05-2007 08:55 AM

to bad there gonna be here after were all dead, and if they wanted to, they can take over even before were gone,

im sure theres trillions world wide.

Vodstok 02-05-2007 09:44 AM
