I loved Yor and the Bronx Warriors as a kid.I haven't seen them in years and I'm not sure I'd want too.I think I'd like to remember them fondly and not be dissapointed.

What's a "pink" film? Is that a porno? If that's the case, then every porno ever made would fit into this category.

One of my favorites. I've been trying to find the sequel and more flicks like it.

Here's some more:

Supervixens
Invasion of the Bee Girls
Death Race 2000

....and I've got a soft spot for the 80s Cannon movies:

I really like Avenging Force too.

It's a crime that this thread has gone on so long without a mention of ZARDOZ. An aging Sean Connery runs about a post-apocalyptic world clad in a red Speedo. I swear it's like the directors blew the entire budget on coke and attempted to film without a screenplay, cinematography, or even a plot.

10 million old women would've flocked to that for sure.

Let me tell you a bit about my favorite scene in it. In this scene, a giant stone head flies around shouting (in a booming, James Earl Jones-ish type voice) "THE GUN IS GOOD! THE PENIS IS EVIL! THE PENIS SHOOTS SEEDS TO PRODUCE THE HUMANS WHILE THE GUN SHOOTS DEATH TO CLEANSE THE EARTH!" And then a stream of rifles cascade from the stone head's gaping mouth. This scene goes on for about five minutes.

It's just so bizarre. Even in 1973, when the movie industry was fueled by cocaine and heroin the way a car is fueled by gasoline, it's almost unbelievable that this film was actually made.

Cthulu Mansion
Night School
Curse of the Blue Lights
Breakin' All The Rules
The Day It Came To Earth
Neon Maniacs (love that moovie!)
Ghosts That Still Walk (70's)

Miss Olivia 02-01-2007 07:51 PM

The Dungeonmaster with Richard Moll.
It was like they took rejected scrap footage from Ray Harryhausen and Jim Henson's storage closets and made a movie with it.
I love to watch it.

Man, I forgot all about Neon Maniacs!Thats another one I forgot about, I loved that as a kid, is it released on dvd?

The Flayed One 02-02-2007 05:03 AM

Gotta mention Cerberus. There was one part where they were supposed to be scaling a wall, but it was so obvious it was a flat backdrop it was rediculous. I had to pause the movie I was laughing so hard.

Oh yes, Neon Maniacs is available on Anchor Bay DVD. It's a film that just seems to get better and better. It's almost too much fun.

Burning in Hell 02-02-2007 08:18 AM

Speed Demon. Just look at the plot outline from IMDB :

"A mysterious driver in a muscle car with a demonic hood ornament hunts down a gang that has taken over a small town."

This one is so bad and cheesy that it was funny as hell. Watched it with a couple of friends a couple of months ago (we usually try to rent at lease one atrocious movie to make fun of). Plus the ritual scenes where racers invoke the spirit of the Speed Demon while nearly neaked was so unintentionnaly homoerotic that we couldn't help but laugh our asses off seing them!!

Vodstok 02-02-2007 09:53 AM

Caught Rod's gryphon last night (cant say i paid attention, but it was on)....

Amazingly, startlingly, Fantastically bad. I kept wondering what parts were Rod's work, and which ones were tacked on later.

The CGI effects were.... unique. They somehow managed to mesh the worst of CGI effects, with the jerky, added-later feel of really bad stop motion animation (think clash of the Titans, but much more obvious that they were done in post).

Plus, the acting was TERRIBLE. I couldnt help but chuckle, and any scenes with the monster were so bad, i could not tear myself away from the screen. Rod has created a classic :)

I think whoever mentioned Commando was right. Total Recall and Running man were also basically crappy movies, but loveable at the same time.

Beastmaster is an old favorite. Nothing with mark singer and tanya roberts could ever honestly be good.

newb 02-02-2007 09:59 AM

I suppose you could add one of my old favorites..Howard The Duck.

also

Frankenhooker
Basketcase
Its Alive
Bad Taste
Street Trash

knife_fight 02-02-2007 10:41 AM

I really love Logan's Run and any movie that is set in the futuristic world of the 1990s or so.

the kind of movies i'm talking about are the ones that are completely inept but done with such sincerity and entheusiasm.

people sho should have known better.

even more appropriate when there's a big star in it.

i'm pretty much talking about movies that you are supposed to take seriously (as was the intent of the filmmaker) but cant because of the terrible filmmaking/acting/effects ..etc

i think most people really like

Frankenhooker
Basketcase
Its Alive
Bad Taste
Street Trash

and understand them to be exactly what the people involved were trying to achieve ..

ok got ya...but I'm not to sure if Its "Alive" fits into that scenario. I just watched that a few weeks back and I'm pretty sure the filmakers were serious.

pinkerton 02-02-2007 02:53 PM

What about Killer Klowns From Outter Space? That was a great cheesy flick.I'm surprised the Chioda(sp?) brothers never did much else(as far as I know).

Yes, Avenging Force is a very violent 80's action flick, and it's alot of fun.:)

Oh yeah..."The Green Slime" is a really fun movie...crazy/silly and creepy grim at the same time. A recent "thing from space" movie project of mine featured a bunch of Green Slime references...character names and things, and I think a space probe was named the "Gamma III"...
