Hell yes!

just got this e-mail:

Hi, Stephen!

Webster University has received your official transcript from Meramec, and I am pleased to tell you that your official letter of acceptance to the University will soon be in the mail. You will also receive a letter to officially inform you that you will be awarded a $3500 per year renewable scholarship. Congratulations!

Webster was my first choice, and they've got a killer film program. *does a dance*

Master 01-30-2007 06:49 PM

Webster? Are you going to be learning how to produce dictionaries?

alkytrio666 01-30-2007 06:51 PM

Congrats!

I'm in the same boat right now, man. Applying for colleges in search of a career in film. It's stressful!

Again, congratulations, that's very, very cool.

You got an e-mail to warn you about something you'll get in the mail telling you the same information you'll get in the envelope.... or do you need something from the letter?

Congrats anyway.

A lot of times, the hard copy is considered the "official" statement.

The STE 03-12-2007 10:45 PM

It's official, I've been accepted into the film production program!

Thank you, thank you.

monalisa 03-13-2007 05:34 AM

Congratulations again man. I'm sure you'll do well in whatever you do. Haven't checked out your viddies in the link in your sig or your writing in the Horror Fiction section. But I plan to. I'm guessing they will be interesting. :)

Papillon Noir 03-13-2007 06:21 AM

Congrats!

That's cool that you are doing your degree in film. That's what my Bachelor's Degree is in. You will really learn a lot, I had a lot of fun too, though you won't get much sleep during your production and editing classes. They take up a lot of your free time, so I wouldn't take them at the same time for that reason.

If you have a chance to take an Experimental Film class, take it! They will screen things that you would never be able to see otherwise as most of it is not available to the public (at least the stuff they showed us). Plus, it gives you a chance to make some really bizarre films.

I would also suggest taking a few business classes while you're there, they will really help you in the long run.
