Cannibal Holocaust

How many here has seen this "old Classic"? Iīve seen almost all except maybe the last 30 mins. Why? Because I saw it on a Internet Cafe and my time ran out.

Spec7ral 01-18-2007 10:41 AM

I have seen it.

a mccuaig 01-18-2007 10:45 AM

That's a fun movie, it kinda made me want to itch alot. I'd like to see that remade!

ShankS 01-18-2007 10:47 AM

It's all real, don't believe anything anyone tells you.

This man speaks the truth.

The Mothman 01-18-2007 11:08 AM

especially the part when they throw the newborn in the mud and kill it. that was the truest of true.

a mccuaig 01-18-2007 11:13 AM

I love Ricki oh! Shit, really. Now I'm going to throw up.

the_real_linda 01-18-2007 12:29 PM

seen it for the firs time bout 8 months ago with my mum....we wanted to know what all the fuss is about and we both loved it as we were so frakked off at the camera documentary crew...not many films really get me so angry and this one did....great film

Rob Bottin 01-19-2007 05:56 AM

Anyone knew this? http://www.us.imdb.com/title/tt0907629/

looks alright, at least its not going it be some lame remake of the first one

Cadaver 01-20-2007 01:14 PM

I've seen it a few times and I like it. The best cannibal flick I've seen.
Not sure about this new part 2 though. I can't see how that one will top the original. Theres no way!

paws the great 01-20-2007 02:33 PM

Cannibal Holocaust is far more extreme and disturbing than Make Them Die slowly.

Cannibal Ferox is a good exploitation flick and it has a great dvd cover.:)

xD

That was a good one for sure.

swiss tony 02-14-2007 03:51 AM

if its gonna be remade then surely mel gibson is the best man for the job, although he would probably think it was too low brow for him. he's the man thats making the sickest shit these days and lets face it if the remake isn't sick shit then why bother. it'd be like remaking star wars without storm troopers or jaws without a shark.

You know, the idea of Mel Gibson remaking Cannibal Holocaust really is a friggin' great idea. His films certainly have alot of gore and shock-value. And his films, while sadisticly brutal, do try to make points about morality and good vs. evil. Cannibal Holocaust would have been right up his alley....just as long as the Cannibals are not Jews!

im certainly a true horror fan, and i dont own this. i dont plan on it either.
Ruggero Deodato is a sick fucker. Ive seen this once and it was enough. I enjoy a good exploitation movie. but animal killing..fuck that.

VampiricClown 02-15-2007 07:17 PM

I have a downloaded version of this. I haven't watched it yet though.

swiss tony 02-16-2007 01:24 AM

i think everyone should watch cannibal holocaust once, not only for the experince and to find out what the hype is about, but also so you don't get left out of the numerous debates about it on this site. say what you like about it, it is thought provoking. also, my copy is from the company Vipco's Vaults etc. do i have a full version or is this watered down? (a tough question but worthy of this site)

Adventure Man 02-16-2007 08:42 AM

I hope they do a remake or a sequel. Something in the vein of the latest "Ghetto" trends, e.g. "Cannibal Holocaust....in the Hood"

That would be worth my 10 bones.

the_real_linda 02-16-2007 09:06 AM

i downloaded cannibal holocaust to see what the hype was about and i found that the hype was over the wrong things. on these stupid 100 best type shows on channel four when ch is mentioned they always go on about the cannibals in it, it was the young team of documentors that disturbed me

Taken from dvdcompare.net:

R2 United Kingdom - (Vipco) - Yes - 5:44 min of cuts, they are as follows (content of an adult nature, continue at your own will) - - -

The BBFC passed off the extensive cuts list with the comment: Cuts required to scenes involving real cruelty to animals and to eroticised sexual violence:
-The killing of a muskrat has been deleted.
-Our intrepid adventurers witness the riverside murder and mutilation of a woman presumably by her husband. We don't get to witness:
-The girl being dragged through the mud and having her legs forced apart.
-The girl struggling and being raped with a wooden dildo.
-The man raising a mudball with spikes and the subsequent shot of genital mutilation.
The following has also been cut:
-Another woman getting raped on the river bank has been removed.
-The disembowelling of a giant turtle has been predictably deleted.
-A monkey gets his head sliced open and its blood is drained into a bowl.
-The kicking of a tethered pig has been removed.
-The rape one of the adventurers by her companians has been reduced.
-The cannibals eventually overpower the adventurers.
-The woman in the party gets stripped and raped.
-The womans death scene is missing nudity shots.

Cadaver 02-16-2007 06:49 PM

Get the Grindhouse Releasing edition. Its uncut...
Plus if the animal killings bother you, (which I'm tired of hearing people complain about, cause thats part of the film so don't watch it or...) theres a non kill animal version on it.

thanks for the info. to be honest i don't think i'll get the grindhouse version. i actually quite like the movie and (not another one, change the record) the animal cruelty shit would really put me off.

I love this movie and I haven't ever really spoke out agianst the animal killings, but I can also understand all the complaints and the outrage at the animal killings. As far as them being "part of the film," the human killings are also "part of the film" and real humans weren't killed. They could have easily done this with all the animal scenes.

I'm not some animal rights activist... in fact, I love to hunt and fish. But as an avid outdoorsman, I also have respect for wildlife. To pull a giant turtle that's decades old out of a river and kill it to make a movie "more controversial" is pretty lame.

Don't want to speak definately for Mothman, but from past conversations with him I'm pretty sure he's a hardcore collector & completist like me. I do a lot of blind buying just because (as geeky as it sounds) I want to own every horror movie I can get my hands on, even if it sucked. It happens in everything I've collected.
