:confused: im going to be making a new horror movie (obviously low budget im a student) and im stuck for ideas i dont know were to start or what to do it on ive done vampires, zombies and all sorts i need some help......what shall i base my story on post ideas here plz ty:D

I'll need a litle more to go on, some perameters.

Are you shooting film or video? A short or a feature? What locations do you have access to? What effects/make-ups/digi-compositing skill do you or your crew possess? What's the budget? Will everything be "in-camera" or do you have a post facility at your disposal in which you can add effects?

Just want to get a sharper focus.

A good old fashioned dollar bin giallo heavy on the Karo syrup is a good bet on a microbudget, as are ghost stories. In a ghost story, you can convey a lot without showing much of anything, which is a nice luxury for a filmmaker. It's also good because you get to scare people atmospherically instead of with effects.

ive got a pretty cool idea....i guess ill shoot it someday....a cripple little girl (handicapped) sits at the dinner table banging her leg braces in to her chair till the family dog goes insane....after a fashion..she goes to the front door...the angry dog charges her knocking her out the door ....the final shot is the little girl dangling from the railing over the steep steps...while the dog snarls at her..to me its simple effective (jarring emotionaly) and will easy and cheap

A Sickened Pup just showed up mid-thread and posted a single scene short about a crippled kid getting attacked by a dog, which by the way seems rather pointless. Or am I missing the point? What's the point of having a crippled kid getting attacked by a family dog?

let me break it down..opening scene starts with a close up of a tv playing an annoying children's show ...cut to a little girl seated at the kitchen table.
Kimi a dark haired 5 year old wearing leg braces is singing along with the tv while playing in her cereal
EAT she screams....cut to the family dog in his basket ..a bug eye mutt
wakes up and glares at kimi
"eat is what you do eat its good for you" cheers kimi has she screams along with the tv
the dog now visibly shakes every time kimi screams..and what's worse is now she has begin banging her leg braces against her chair

close up of the dogs face has you hear kimi banging leg braces ...clang ...clang
...clang...clang
doorbell rings cut to kimi franticly swinging her legs around and sliding out of her chair ...cut to the outside of the house has a mail man walks down the very steep steps
cut to kimi now try to balance herself has she walks down the hall to the front door
she opens the front door and screams "hi mail man" ....
the dog now filled with rage gets up from his basket
cut to kimi now leaning out over the steep front steps
cut to the dog has he blots towards kimi and thuds has the dog rams her out the door
cut to the next morning kimi's mom pours milk over cereal...and and sits down next to her (the annoying children's show is on again and is singing "eat your food")
cut to kimi who is now wearing a neck brace.."hurt" says kimi
"eat" says mom has she spoons cereal in to kimis mouth
cut to the dog has he turns uncomfortably in his basket ...end

I guess it really has no point other than your house pets could be psychotic...I duuno maybe it does suc
