TCM-The Beginning

Comes out on DVD tomorrow!!!

Still waiting for SawIII

Despare 01-15-2007 08:59 AM

Everybody HATED TCM The Beginning (that I knew) but it wasn't that bad. Sure the story sucked, but it's worth one watch if you're a gorehound I think.

Roderick Usher 01-15-2007 09:26 AM

it's pretty weak, but I'm sure a lot of you will like it. The gore is nice, the mood is creepy, just don't expect to feel invested in any of the characters or to walk away feeling that this film added to the mythos in any real way except

************************SPOILER******************* ************
Leatherface's birth on the floor of the slaughterhouse and subsequent abandonment in a dumpster was pretty tasty.
************************* END SPOILER**************************

I kind of liked this one better then the remake, but the whole idea of a prequel to a remake that strayed far away from the original characters really begs the question why was this film necessary?

slayer666 01-15-2007 11:54 AM

Rod, your comments were very helpful. I plan to avoid this one. I'm not big on the all gore no story films.

Nikkif8 01-15-2007 12:59 PM

I thought it was better than the remake by far. To me its not a movie to expect much from anyway as it is for gore and thrill, it made me jump a few times and that never happens. It is one I would just like to add to the collect w/the rest of my TCMs.

I thought this was the best TCM movie since pt 2, Lee Ermey was awsome. I ran two blocks in the rain in Sydney and just made it in time for the final screening before it left cinemas in December. It was worth it.

I'll agree it was better than TCM3 or the Jessica Beil jiggle-fest, but that isn't exactly high praise.

It's passable. The teen girls in the theater seemed to scream a lot. The wife and I enjoyed watching the little girls squirm much more than anything in the film.

Elvis_Christ 01-15-2007 04:00 PM

Pretty keen on checking this one out. Be a few more months before it hits the shelves here, as long as its not like the Next Generation I'll dig it.

BASSI 01-16-2007 03:35 AM

it was crap

davidd60 01-16-2007 08:33 PM

was the movie as scary as it says???

pinkerton 01-17-2007 09:54 PM

I didn't exactly love it-you knew no one in the family would die but all the victims had too.

Disease 01-17-2007 10:24 PM

I still think it was cool, much better than all the remake crap we get flooded with each year in horror.

I realize you haven't been around for a while, so you don't understand what's considered acceptable behavior.

"fuck you" isn't cool. Disagree, attack someone's taste, attack a movie, but leave the personal shit out of it, please.

Roderick Usher 01-24-2007 03:05 PM

Never made the comment that you didn't know what you were talking about. I respect your opinion, simply trying to keep the less kind members for jumping down your throat.

Disease 01-24-2007 09:00 PM

i liked this movie, I thought it was good, it is better than the 2003 Texas movie IMO, it has everything you want in a horror film except nudity, wooooo, nudity

davidd60 01-25-2007 04:18 PM

can't get enough gore 01-29-2007 10:59 AM

this is my favorite among all TCM sequels, prequels, and remakes.

Hoyt is such a badass!
