Saw 4

does anyone else think its a little pointless to bring out a 4th saw film since they killed him twice:p

The_Return 01-08-2007 04:41 AM

Twice? I only counted once, and it wouldnt have been hard to fake.

Look at how many times Jason or Freddy have been ressurected. They'll milk this until its bone dry...so far so good, but it'll start going downhill pretty damn soon.

Despare 01-08-2007 06:02 AM

I don't think the 4th will "bring Jigsaw back". We don't know the fate of the doctor and photographer (Jigsaw said he cleaned up Amanda's mess) from the first movie and dead or alive Jigsaw has another game already in progress.

Huh?

I dont know if they could bring him back, it definately looks like hes dead. Not sure what they'll do.

Jason and Freddy were definatly dead, too...

Besides, it wouldnt be the first time he faked his own death.

Yeah but Jigsaw is human. Just a "normal" human being, without any special powers, zombification possibilities or anything like that.

...SPOILER COMING UP

(although theres one in the very first post, therefore I assumed people coming in here would have seen saw 3 or the spoilers above my post, but I guess I'm a thoughtless twit so I'm sorry for my existence, I was obviously trying to spoil it for everyone and people arent allowed to make mistakes. Would be a lot easier if spoiler tags worked, people can still easily notice a certain word accidentaly which could spoil it for them even if I've written spoiler in big letters...).

SPOILER:

I think it would be quite hard to fake bleeding to death/choking on your own blood/dying from a brain tumor. We clearly see him get his throat sliced pretty convincingly. Would have been quite hard to fake his heartbeat stopping too.

/SPOILER.

I know what you're saying, but I cant see them "bringing him back to life" in the way say, Jason would be brought back. I cant see him being in a sequel, only a prequel, in flashbacks or just not at all. :(

So was Jason in the first few movies.

Im not really arguing with, I think he's probably dead, too...but with a series like this thats known for huge twists, Id rather play devil's advocate.

Manic1511 01-08-2007 11:25 AM

i think it would be weird if they were to make a saw 4 how many times can they kill a guy!? plus..they killed off shawnie smith no point in the saw movies now..in my opinion.

Roderick Usher 01-08-2007 12:20 PM

There's no "if" about it. Saw IV is in pre-production. Each film has opened to larger box office than the previous one. Another one will be ready by Halloween.

urgeok 01-08-2007 12:35 PM

another horror franchise, created and dragged through the mud to the tune of a cash register door.

yes virginia, big business is an ugly business.

Well, I found that Saw 3 was very strong (better than Saw 2 IMO), but I think it would have been a perfect ending. I am a bit worried about a fourth installment, but who knows? It already seems like a miracle to have launched three such films in three years while maintaining a high standard, so perhaps I will again be surprised next october...

XtRaVa 01-08-2007 01:27 PM

I thought the first was awesome. The second was a poor sequel, but still had its moments. The third was back to being on par with the original.

Lets hope theres not some weird even number curse which makes the 4th movie bad like the second. ;)

just lik they killed chucky, jason, freddy...........the list goes on.........

XtRaVa 01-08-2007 02:14 PM

But the Saw movies are totally different. They base around a man who kills people with traps. Theres never once been any sort of suggestion that he might be something more than mortal and the film has never once gone in any sort of direction of being supernatural/monster/zombie related. It's a different type of horror to that in my opinion.

Friday the 13th Part II - No suggestion Jason is anything more than a distubed, mentally challanged dude that misses his mommy.

BlackSunProductions 01-08-2007 05:43 PM

The only way I can see this happening is if Jigsaw had a cult of followers. But, wouldn't that have been revealed in the films already?

no not really. its like michael myers had a cult but we didnt figure that out untill the sixth fim.

Death_for_all 01-09-2007 01:08 AM

saw 1 was good and original
saw 2 poor..... i expected more out of it
saw 3 ok he's dead lets move on to something new
saw 4 ok now every one has the right to make at least 1 crappy sequel but now your just abusing that right.

sawmeg 01-09-2007 03:10 AM

Contains SPOILERS!!!!!

i agree although i found saw 2 very good for graphic intention i.e BLOOD BLOOD and a little fire...
i did love saw 3 but i think to keep going after 3 is just pointless why bother if they remove the orginal JIGSAW then it isnt SAW + there is nowhere they can take it we saw him die its that simple:o

It's been a while since I've seen them but didnt he drown? When he came back was it actually that somehow he didnt drown and escaped the water before dying to later emerge and become a killer or did he die in the water to emerge a zombie?

SPOILERS I GUESS...

Still, Friday the 13th series is not like Saw series. If they made Jigsaw a zombie it would be the worst piece of shit ever, the movies just dont have that feel to it. Surely you have to agree that the series (even if Friday 13th was originally similar) has the feel of a normal world where nothing supernatural would happen...

Like I said, going the direction of what Jason films did with Saw, in my opinion would be pathetic. Stupid and unoriginal, completely unbelievable compared to the series so far. If they do do that, good luck to them, I'm sure me not buying a ticket wont ruin them, but I'd be all like "Fuck you!!" :p

Death_for_all 01-12-2007 02:40 AM

rofl if they made jigsaw a zombie id go and see it it just to laugh:p

sawmeg 01-12-2007 03:09 AM

i really wanted saw 4 to be good but i know it wont be lol

XtRaVa 01-12-2007 05:05 AM

Wanted? For a minute there it sounded like you had already seen it.

Death_for_all 01-12-2007 06:01 AM

she may as well have already have seen it its goingto be shit anyway so theres no need for it to be made

XtRaVa 01-12-2007 06:33 AM

Quick, you better telephone them telling them that to stop them wasting their time and money...

Death_for_all 01-12-2007 07:00 AM

u got the number?:p

Snake_Plissken 01-12-2007 07:23 AM

no saw 4.
We don't need another, he's dead.

Roderick Usher 01-12-2007 07:56 AM

everyone thinks so chonologically. It could be a prequel. It could involved vidoe-tapped traps Jigsaw set up before his death. Either way, it's coming and Tobin Bell is under contract.

I've been discussing that it could be a prequel since 31st of October 2006. We all however decided we would think that would be crap. Who knows what they will do though, hopefully they pull it off no matter what they do. :)

Official Saw Fan Club

I'm always up for a SAW - can't wait.

If you're a big SAW fan, be sure to check out the Official SAW Fan Club www.officialsaw.com --it's new, so not too many people have seen it yet, but it's totally wicked. They get the news on Saw 4 first, the stars actually have their own blog section which is flat out HOT, they even give stuff away (like free) every week. Really cool-- for a SAW person like me, my God in heaven, it rocks so hard.

peace out!

The_Return 01-12-2007 02:38 PM

*Spoilers, but nothing that hasnt been spoiled already*

Even if it isnt a straight-up prequel, there will have to be some aspects of the past - they set up some kind of backstory with that blonde chick (Jigsaw's wife?) that they need to go into. Plus there's always the fact that (though I hesitate to believe this) that Jigsaw really is dead...

People are forgetting that hes already faked his death twice in the series...for the whole first movie and then again to some extent at the end of #2. Even though this one might seem a heck of alot harder to fake, keep in mind that it is just a movie, and thus ANYTHING is possible.

XtRaVa - Im not arguing with you, I really doubt that they'll take in in a supernatural direction. All Im saying is that they could. Hopefully wont, but theres really nothing stopping them.

dewaholic 01-13-2007 08:08 PM

I've yet to see saw too

oops see saw 2

XtRaVa 01-14-2007 03:57 PM

Watch it, but then quickly forget it. It's not that great. Then go on to number 3 :)

sawmeg 01-15-2007 01:23 AM

whatever happens i really dont think there is much point in a 4th one even if it is a prequal its not gonna be the same the best thing would have to left it after jigsaw got his throat cut so that its a definite ending.

Puppet 01-15-2007 02:25 AM

im just upset shawnee most likely wont be in number 4 and that james wan and liegh wannel arent writing or directing saw 4 and they arent going to be in it. Its hollywoods' now and we can expect to see it wrecked beyond repair i think, i do agree that they could do anyhting with it and that most posiblities point to a prequal, couldnt they base it on the one shot graphic novel/ comic book that was done?

sawmeg 01-15-2007 02:36 AM

lets face it its gonna be shit lol.....
