Good Photo Editor

I'm looking for a good photo editor that I can do lots of cool things with. Eye color editing, background changing and skin tone with shadows. What would be the best thing I could get that I could download for free? I'm broke at the moment.

photoshop cs2

Have you tried GIMP?

Beat me to it. Almost as functional as Photoshop but, you know, free.

VampiricClown 01-03-2007 08:10 PM

Thanks.
I think I'm going to try GIMP.
Photoshop is out of my price range. :(

ManchestrMorgue 01-04-2007 03:02 AM

GIMP is free and very functional. Alternatively, if you want to spend a little, but not the Photoshop CS3 dollars, you could always look at Photoshop Elements. Does most of the things the pro photoshop does.

You can get the trial version on the Adobe site, don't know how long the trial period is though.

VampiricClown 01-04-2007 07:24 AM

@Shanks
I was going to do that, but the download was going to take 3 hours on DSL. So I said forget it. lol

Paint Shop Pro is the best I've ever used and very easy(though not free unless you're lucky enough to find a crack for it without getting viruses instead, like my stupid ex done on my computer--but you can get a free trial, and buy the full version for $30 @ buycheapsoftware.com). Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I never understood the Gimp. I learned how to make animations with it, but that's about it. I never learned to colorize pictures or anything on there.

it all depends on where you look

LilMissScareAll 01-08-2007 02:11 PM

Where's the right place to look then? ;)
My ex claimed to be into hacking and that he was great at all this computer stuff, and wanted to fix computers, and he screwed up my computer more than once. My little 13 year old cousin probably would have done a better job at fixing computers than him. lol :p

latest version is 10, but i have been happily running 9 for ages :D

LilMissScareAll 01-08-2007 08:03 PM

and for free? :p I know one way to keep it a little longer than the normal trial period is to keep setting the date back on your clock every day. But on the newer versions it got too "smart" and must have realized it because it only worked for awhile...my days still kept going down, just not as soon as it would have normally.
So I found it for $30 and just bought it. It was worth it to me to not have to worry about setting the date back constantly, or risk getting more viruses.

try the P2P eMule, I've got a few things of it and haven't managed to fuck up my computer yet *fingers crossed*

my general rule of thumb is not to use p2p for apps

AmericanManiac 01-09-2007 02:16 PM

Amalthea_unicorn 01-10-2007 12:11 AM

I have GIMP, but it's hard, so I am looking for another free photoshop.
