White Noise any good

i was thinking of buying this but i wasn't sure if it was any good.

anyone here seen it and was the movie any good?

X¤MurderDoll¤X 01-03-2007 10:38 AM

I liked it.

wufongtan. 01-03-2007 10:51 AM

I found it to be a lot more enjoyable than i thought it would have been. A nice little suprise in the age of over hyped peices of shit that come out on a almost weekly basis

XtRaVa 01-03-2007 10:54 AM

Erm...In my opinion it's an american attempt at an asian horror style ghost story using modern technology, much like Ringu, Phone, Kairo etc...

It's not great tbh, I would give it 6/10. I expect I'd give it less and less the more times I saw it. You might quite like it though :) The sequel out now however looks really quite awful.

X¤MurderDoll¤X 01-03-2007 10:59 AM

funny I don't remember a japanese girl with long hair that covered her face in this.

Vodstok 01-03-2007 11:03 AM

I thought it was okay. could have been a lot worse, could have been a lot better.

urgeok 01-03-2007 11:07 AM

i liked it until the very end - then it kind of fell on it's face.
nice build up til then though.

joshaube 01-03-2007 11:11 AM

I thought it was rather silly.
The ending was just ludicrous.
Wouldn't recommend it.

The_Return 01-03-2007 12:02 PM

Wasnt too bad, but not really great. Worth watching once but I cant imagine wanting to watch it more than that.

stygianwitch 01-03-2007 12:07 PM

an OK film, but i found it slow with a very disappointing end, not sure what the second one will be like

Burning in Hell 01-03-2007 12:10 PM

I thought it started up pretty good but became lame very quickly, with an atrocious ending.

halloweenfreak1 01-03-2007 12:27 PM

it wasnt bad, but a sequel i think is out of the question, but somone in hollywood disagrees with me.

I said nothing about a girl with long black hair. I said it was in the style of an asian horror ghost story.

I'll wait till its out on DVD or on TV. I can no longer get free cinema all the time anymore :( , so I only go to see films I want to see, look interesting, or are highly recommended. :)

XtRaVa 01-03-2007 05:51 PM

Oh I know you were just helping, I just wanted to make what I was saying clear :)

BASSI 01-04-2007 07:10 AM

2000 Manics
Cave
Creep
Demons
The lost boys
Return of the Living Dead
Shivers
The People Under the Stairs
Wishmaster

urgeok 01-04-2007 07:14 AM

this is only my opinion - so balance it against the others you get :

2000 Manics - great fun
Cave - ok - not as horrible as most people say
Creep - good movie
Demons - good italian fun
The lost boys - great fun
Return of the Living Dead - fantastic
Shivers - excellent (if this is the chronenberg film)
The People Under the Stairs - so-so some ok moments
Wishmaster - complete waste of time.

The_Return 01-04-2007 07:22 AM

Havent seen maany...heres what I'm familiar with:

Creep - Solid entertainment, I really enjoyed it

Return of the Living Dead - One of the coolest, funniest horror movies of all time. Dont bother with Part II though.

Wishmaster - Pretty fun slasher...great kills and a really cool concept. It has its flaws, but it's enjoyable.

i know - some folks like it (which is why i put in a disclaimer)
but i absolutely hated it when i saw it.

i expected something of wes cravens (then) caliber .. and got some cheap ass direct to video amateurish joke instead. (or thats how i felt at the time)

Didn't like it one bit either. The thing with Craven is that he is a really inconsistent director, and you never know if his next movie is going to be a masterpiece or a third-rate movie!

well, this one he 'presented'
i dont believe he directed it.

which made me avoid any film since that starts with 'wes craven presents:'

Ah, perhaps you're right on this. It's been a while since I've seen it, and I don't plan on catching up anytime soon :D

LadyFrost 01-05-2007 07:18 AM
