halloweenfreak1 01-01-2007 10:20 PM

most anticipated horror movies of 2007

1. HALLOWEEN ( the first halloween was legendary, but it remains to be seen if rob zombie will continue its legacy)
2. Hannibal rising (loved all of the films, cant wait to see this new installment)
3. The Hitcher ( well, im not sure if this was the greatest idea for a remake, but i do know where ill be the night of january 19th)
4. Hostle part 2 ( the first one was grusome and left me pondering how Quinton Tarontino went from a movie about drug dealers (pulp fiction) to a movie...... well you fill in the blanks)
5. Saw IV (I, II, and III were awsome but it remains to be seen if the will keep the streek alive.......or um, dead or what ever)

halloweenfreak1 01-01-2007 11:53 PM

Halloween is the definite head linner for 2007, i predict it will be the best horror film of the year.

Jameslofton 01-01-2007 11:53 PM

Halloween
Zodiac
The Hills Have Eyes 2
Pet Semetary
Hatchet
Ed Gein
The Messengers

I'll go watch Saw IV, but the series is quickly getting old. It doesn't need to be a yearly thing. Its turning into this generation's Friday the 13th.

Geddy 01-02-2007 03:57 AM

Grindhouse, creepshow 3,that's all I can think of right now.

The_Return 01-02-2007 04:00 AM

Grindhouse and Halloween

Posher778 01-02-2007 06:24 AM

Grindhouse and Creepshow 3. But i'm pissed about halloween. Rob zombie will take it and turn it into a delightfully gory, bloody beyond reason movie, when that's not what it's supposed to be. Probably 4572656457206 f bombs too, which isnt that much of a problem, but they're should be some kind of limit!

I dont know...Look at Ho1kC. Yes, it has all the stuff that you're worried about, but it also shows that Zombie has tons of respect for the genre. It could go horribly wrong, but Im pretty confident that he'll do OK.

Don't get me wrong, the work he does is fine. But i'd rather him keep doing his interesting films and leave the ones he just wasn't made for alone. Although I do admit i'd rather him remake it then someone like uwe boll or something.

For Hostel II: Who's Quinton Tarontino? :P

Eli Roth wrote and directed it, Quentin Tarantino only "presents" it. He presents a lot of movies, but has little-to-nothing to do with them.

I want to see Saw IV, Hostel II, Halloween and The Hills Have Eyes 2.

Also, halloweenfreak1, are you worried about how Rob Zombie might steer away from the classic Halloween movies, or do you think that it will be as good/better than them? I definately want to see it.

Roderick Usher 01-02-2007 07:29 AM

Grindhouse!!!!!!!

Hatchet!

Behind the Mask!

Vodstok 01-02-2007 07:40 AM

I take it your little masterpiece is currently slated for a 2008-2009 release?

Yeah, DAMNED will probably be a January 08 release, but who knows - we might get it out this year.

urgeok 01-02-2007 08:19 AM

i want to see what Romero does with Diary of the Dead

XtRaVa 01-02-2007 08:35 AM

Hopefully writes in it "Land of the Dead".

Or did you guys like that film? ;)

urgeok 01-02-2007 08:49 AM

it wont be like Land of the dead.
it's an indie production - no studio interference this time.

Roderick Usher 01-02-2007 08:55 AM

Looking forward to that one too.

alkytrio666 01-02-2007 09:01 AM

Yeah, Diary of the Dead.

...and Zodiac, Creepshow 3, and Grindhouse.

I rose a little hell hear when i first heard of halloween being remade. I made me sick. halloween is my favorite horror film hense the name halloweenfreak1. Rob zombie has a rep for gore, and i dont think under any condition that halloween would be that good if it had a whole lot of blood and guts every where. But i've decided that he is going to remake it if i like it or not so i might as well give it a chance.

Spec7ral 01-02-2007 11:52 AM

I'm hoping hatchet will be good. and behind the mask sounds like its a crowd pleaser.

slayer666 01-02-2007 12:34 PM

I'm eagerly anticipating the 2007 DVD release of The Host.

BlackSunProductions 01-02-2007 12:47 PM

I am looking forward to Pans' Labrynth (I imagine it being a bit like a demented Alice in Wonderland), Primevil, and Diary of the Dead. I just found a Masters of Horror DVD that I want too, Imprint, which was supposedly banned from cable. I didn't have enough money to pick it up though.

halloweenfreak1 01-02-2007 12:52 PM

now i know there is like nobody including me who thinks The HItcher was a movie they just had to remake being that the originals wernt exactly remembered by all horror fans. but if you did see the original you would find a pretty good and entertaining movie. not great, but good. And to tell you the truth i think that they could make it better than the original. i know that i could, and probubly just about any other horror fan reading this could also make it better. I dont see why a couple of hollywood film writers who live to do this kind of stuff cant make it better. i just see a lot of potential in this film.

I'd rather them just create a new story with a central plot around a hitchhiker. Yes! Create something new!

Chances are, you won't be remembered for a remake.

But a new movie idea to improve a good topic...there's something worth considering!

It's BEAUTIFUL. I walked away from the screening with a huge smile on my face. If you liked The Devil's Backbone then you'll love Pan's Labyrinth!

and Slayer -
Host is fun, and interesting, but no where near a good as the hype would lead you to believe. The American remake is being rushed into production simply because the Korean version kicked box-office ass. But I really don't see it working with American audiences.

waxonwaxoff 01-02-2007 04:10 PM

as with a lot of the horror movies that have come out over the past few years the have been a few that were shit IMHO a couple that were great

shits first

1) hostal - over rated tosh
2) reeker right load of strange shit
3) blade 3
4) saw 3 - not a patch on the 1st one but i will still see number 4 ??
5) cursed - was craven werewolf shit ....

great ones

1) saw
2) jeepers creepers 1
3) underworld 1 & 2 loved both of em
4) texas chainsaw
5) hills have eyes

there are lots more of great ones but these are what i thought were the best

my all time top 10 are

1) the beast in heat - not a real horror i know
2) the exorcist
3) the entity
4) american werewolf in london
5) night of the demon - penis ripping one with the biker
6) island of death
7) event horizon
8) nightmare on elm street
9) dog soliders
10) friday the 13ths

and lots of other horrors.....

They are re-making it? Ffs...How fucking difficult is it to write an original story (well yeah its sort of like a Godzilla movie in certain ways, but you know what I'm getting at). I cant see it being well recieved by western audiences in general either. When I was watching The Host in cinema over here in england, about 5 people walked out in the first 5 minutes (probably because they cant read, ignorant fucks) but I feel even if they had stayed, they wouldnt of liked the type of movie it was because they dont give anything a chance, and only like movies with sex, drugs and violence.

If it was to be successful they would have to make the monster very realistic and probably add more death scenes to innocent bystanders...

I would give the original about 3/5. I predict I'd give the re-make no more than 2.5/5...

halloweenfreak1 01-03-2007 06:28 AM

I cant wait to see Hannibal: Rising

XtRaVa 01-03-2007 06:31 AM

Do you think he will eat anyone? If so, who?

halloweenfreak1 01-03-2007 06:33 AM

come on its Hannabal, he'll eat everyone.

XtRaVa 01-03-2007 07:53 AM

Like, in the world? O.O

Yes and then he will go to mars and eat them too! he will reign supream in the universe

XtRaVa 01-03-2007 08:59 AM

Well becomming the supreme ruler (by killing everything) of two planets, doesnt exactly make him reign supreme in the universe, let alone a galaxy, or even our solar system. He has some work to do yet.

alicefan 01-18-2007 05:20 PM

Halloween is definitely one of my most anticipated and the new Fri. the 13th film if it comes out this year and Saw 4 and TCM the Beginning even though it was released last year for me it will be anticipated because it came out on dvd this month and i didn't see it in the theatre

the_real_linda 01-19-2007 06:23 AM

has to be saw 4 for me.....and grindhouse

Despare 01-19-2007 02:17 PM

I'm actually looking forward to Driftwood...

Papillon Noir 01-30-2007 07:16 AM

I'm looking forward to House, I read the book and couldn't put it down. The ending was a little too "Disney" for me, so I hope they change that. But other than that it was great.

Oh, and of course Grindhouse.
