any new year resolutions??
I know xmas hasn't even been yet..which gives
us time to ponder on what we want to change about a few misgivings next year. Right now..i can't actually think of any for myself as i have a one track mind..em moving to Egypt as soon as em released from my govt contract and em starting a new life with a beautiful ..the most handsomest guy ever born...'sigh' |
Don't usually make NYR's, but, I have thought about some things I'd like to
do this coming year, so I guess they'd count? Learn more things, of all kinds... Quit regular use of carbonated drinks, candy, chocolate, all that shit. Try to see my brother more. Continue my studies, stick with them, rack up a few more distinctions. More kitchen experience. Lose fat, gain more muscle. Start muay thai again, if not, standard boxing maybe look at local comps. Eat more fish, less meat. Go out to at least a few live performances...not so much music. Grow more herbs and things. Get the WII. |
Get a place of my own.
Get at least a demo CD out. Lose all my weight and replace it with muscle. Get a job to start saving up money to go overseas. |
Continue my work in the defense of wolves and other endangered animals
To get this last little bit of weight off (not going skeletal mind) via exercise Intensely study the works of Cornelius Agrippa After Agrippa, then study Alister Crowley's earlier works (before he became a sex crazed, drug addicted, rambling nut case) Study (more intensely) Chang Tsu's writings in Wandering on the Way to balance out the other two, and for the purposes of becoming a wiser more spiritual fulfilled woman |
Stop eating candy.. Damn cavities.

In 2007 i would like to score..

Lose at least thirty pounds, stop smoking (cigarettes), finish my degree. Skydive. Make at least four new friends that I'll KEEP.

Yes, I have a resolution--to be a more effective person, and less of a goddamn bitch-ass!
|
Awww.....sure:)
|
Miss Olivia, let's team up on the quitting smoking thing. I keep quitting for two to three months, and then, for some stupid friggin' reason, I start back.
*dons Jersey accent* We'll start a support group, and bitch about men in between our cheated puffs. |

Did you ever know that you're my hero, and ev'rything I would like to be? I can fly higher than an eagle, 'cause you are the wind beneath my wings. GAG ACK! OK that was a bit overboard. But I do think you're an awesome strong-willed woman and I really respect you and hope you don't let the bastard(s) get ya down. Stay strong! |
Oh, and my New Year's Resolution...to train my new puppy and hopefully get more exercise, I will at least by walking him, but I mean overall exercise too.
|
new years resolutions are for pussies.
if you think you need to change something - but need new years for an excuse to do it .. then you'll never stick to it. you think you need to change something about yourself - do it now. |

what i'm saying is that people who make them usually dont keep them. if you have a real conviction about something you wont need an excuse or some kind of a weird milestone as a starting block - you'll take action immediately. (stop smoking, losing weight) the health and fitness clubs are full of people who are determined to lose weight by joining. they put out marketing to embrace/take advantage of this. So the 1st couple of weeks after new years the places are jam packed ... and then they quickly peter off as people lose interest and forget how important that resolution was. again - i stress.. if it is truely important - you'll do it now. and if you are that kind of person - you'll be more apt to have success. |
I'm gonna once again try to quit smoking and lose some weight.Hopefully I can do in the new year.

I mean, I don't personally do the "resolutions" thing, I mean, why is it of any more relevance in the new year? but...I tend to think about things that I'd like to change/do more of/less of, and all that, in advance, if I give myself solid goals then it's something to strive for...sometimes it's hard to make good on each and every thought/idea in the immediate time of conception (eg - sticking with studies, something I can't do 'til my college is back in, the boxing thing well, info's needed there, the live performance stuff, gotta wait for some good stuff to come along), in fact, most of what I said (just to post in here) is pretty much already underway, but still, I tend to set goals here and there just to keep things rolling in the right direction for me, I work better with structure. But yeah...the whole "do this in the new year" thing, I've seen people get into the new year fads, and you're right, there's an initial interest, then loss thereof for the better part. Best to know what you want, and do what you can to get 'em started ASAP. If a person is unhappy with themselves for some reason, they can't just say "new years = I am a new person", takes more effort than that. Quote:

New years resos. Well I sorta completed the ones I had written up for this year. So next year I gotta do better.
Lets see. Next year I think im gonna try and look for my birth mum. Find out what happened 20+ years ago. I haven't seen her since I was 3 or something,. I barely remember her. I gotta change my hairstyle. All fucking frizzy. No control at all. Look into wearing some makeup. I will never wear lippy so thats out haha. Get a car Buy some shoes. I got 1 pair of boots. Thats it haha. I love my boots but there gonna die soon. Find some female friends. No not the girly type more the tomboyish type. Go to the movies more often. This year we almost cut out even going out cos of the course and lack of cash. So that means I needa job haha. I don't care if it's a delivery job, its a darn job. Have a girly moment. Maybe go get a facial or something. Maybe I should let my nails grow too while im at it. I gotta lose another 5kgs or so. Just tone up. Get some more muscle so I can smack cheebs around a bit more. :P Buy a digital camera Explore nature a bit more. Having a car will help that. I think thats it so far. :) |
I'm absolutely with Ugre on this one.
Sure it seems like a great time to make a life change, but if you know whaty you plan to change, why not start today? |
hrmmmm let me see..changes..
'bites nails' stop being so soft hearted when it comes to sad stories. stop giving away money for every sob story told. stop being rude and obnoxious when i hear something i don't like. stop debating when ever my baby says something stop random eating stop being so damned cute 'tried the girly friend thing sister-boo'..nah!! be more open minded. get contract sorted so i can get fucken ass to egypt ASAP  |

I agree as well to a point. I'll already have Agrippa's works and have been doing some background research. I'm already taking exercise and have already lost a shitload of weight, I have Wandering on the Way (shit I've read most of it), I've been working with wolf preservation (made a mad Yuletide donation today). As for smoking, quitting is an on going process, if you fall off of that proverbial horse, you get back on as soon as possible. (I am determinded to kick this habbit). Ultimately, I think the whole "Resolution" issue serves as an impetus for many and stimulus for others. Also, I think ya might be taking this thread a tad too seriously. I mean it's kind of an interesting look at things that are important to each member who has posted. |
To stop killing.

Actually, I agree with Urge as well. However, if it gives people a reason to reflect on what they would like to change where they might not otherwise think about it, nothing wrong with that. Better than not doing it at all. Now, if we could all just do what we plan to do, that's the hard part. :)

LOL
stop biting nails :o |
Watch more movies.

To spend the entire year forgetting what the midwest is like.
|
Now that, Flayed, is a good idea. So many of my close pals and my brother's ex wife were from the Midwest. Odd little part of the US it seems.
