A thread for Heavy stuff...
So what heavy stuff have you been digging on recently, be it death, hardcore, grind or just plain old metal?
|
Just here lately, Agalloch's Ashes Against the Grain and My Dying Bride's A Line of Deathless Kings have been in constant rotation. Both great new records. If any of you guys have any interest in doom or folk metal, I'd recommend them.
|
ASSUCK - Anticapital/Blindspot (possibly my favorite heavy album of all time..... mean breakdowns and the best fucking blastbeats EVER).
As well as some Cryptopsy, Skinless, Excruiciating Terror, Bathory and one of the cooler bands I've discovered latley Toxic Holocaust! http://www.nnm.ru/imagez/gallery/doc..._9499_full.jpg If you love shit like Kreator or Bathory's first album you'll fucking love this one. |
Yeah I have a few songs off of that Toxic Holocaust, Hell On Earth album...
Ready To Fight Metallic Crucifixion Send Them To Hell Time To Die Yeah they remind me of old Kreator a bit and also kind of remind me of old Nuclear Assault stuff also...Godd stuff though no doubt... I have the Assuck, Anticapital Blindspot as well, that's def. some bad ass heavy fuckin shit... I tell you a fuckin awesome band I've been listening to lately is Animosity, ever listened to them? This album fucking kicks ass, great grooves and some fast shit that's heavy as fuck... http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/7...empiresrn6.jpg "Empires" by "Animosity" Also been digging "Dreams Of Death And Dismay" by "Anata" great death metal... http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/4...athanddbr7.jpg "Dreams Of Death And Dismay" by "Anata" Also I can't say enough about this album "Kilafornia" by "First Blood" it's hardcore stuff with a fucking great overall sound, awesome grooves and kickass breakdowns... http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/6...aforniahy4.jpg "Kilafornia" by "First Blood" This one hasn't left my cd player for shit going on 6 or 7 months now.... http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/5...piphanyio5.jpg "Violent Epiphany" by "Icepick" Also do any of you guys use SoulSeek for downloading? If not it's an awesome program for finding alot of obscure stuff... |

Antaeus - Blood Libels
Ultraviolent Black Metal from France. |
There's this band Dethklok that I've heard a couple songs from. The songs are short and kinda weird (it sounds like they're singing about coffee in one of them), but it's pretty good

Anyway, I just popped in At the Gates' Slaughter of the Soul for the first time in years. Damn... that record is a monster. I can't figure out how it escaped my regular rotation. So... about Soulseek. I've heard a lot of great things about it, but I'm very wary of direct connect style programs. Is that how Soulseek works? If any of you guys could fill me in, I'd appreciate it. |
Slaughter of the Soul is really fuckin' cool. I've been meaning to pick up their older albums for awhile.
You heard Skitsystem? The guys that didn't go onto the Haunted formed this band. Really cool d-beat thrash kinda deal. http://www.plasticbombshop.de/catalog/images/882362.jpghttp://www.addreviews.com/images/alb...6-08-21-24.jpg ^^ Those two albums are great. I wasn't that impress with Stigmata but whatever heaps of people seem to love it. |
|
There's a Dethklok cartoon? Is it like Quay Bros. stuff?

oh, it's an adult cartoon? Somehow that doesn't surprise me
|
Check out Rayne and Gudalupe's signatures Sam, thats where they got 'em.
|
The new Phobia album is the best shit they have ever put out.

Been listening to this one for the last couple of days. The record Metallica should have made. http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...1.LZZZZZZZ.jpg |
I've never come across a American pressing of Sabbath. The American pressings I had of MC5 and Big Star were fucking beautiful records.... really nice warm sound with sturdy as fuck covers. We get a lot more of the English pressings over here. Man Sabbath sounds like shit on CD... I really should get a new turntable and hook some vinyl up again.
A friend of mine swears by that C.O.C album. I've never really given them a proper listen. |
Dark Angel was awesome, I haven't listened to them in awhile though...
newb the Wiseblood album is awesome, I've always been a big fan of COC... Been listening to the new Scar Symmetry a good bit the past few days, really good melodic death stuff, I've been very impressed with it... http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/1...hblackpoq8.jpg |
iv mostly been listening to A Black Rose Burial and Waking The Cadaver amazing bands and heavy as fuck
