I could say the same to you.:)

EDIT - Didnt want to double post, so just adding it on to this one:

Is there a site like DVDaf for VHS collections? Mine isnt huge by any means, but Im pretty proud of some of the stuff.

makemebad 10-29-2006 04:36 PM

I just joined to http://dvdaficionado.com

and I know this sounds idiodic, but I can not find out how to add movies that I "own"

How do I do this?

Go to the top where there's a search box. Type in the name of a film you own. For example, type "Eraserhead" and hit enter. Several DVD titles in several regions and editions will pop up. Find the one you own, and click the check box next to it. Then scroll all the way to the top (or bottom) of the page. You'll see something that says "move to" and then a drop box. Hit that drop box and highlight "owned". Then hit the OK button.

Repeat for all your DVDs, and good luck!

Type atitle in the search bar at the top of the screen, find the version that you own, check the box beside it, scroll to the bottom (or top, its the same thing)...Now, see the little dropdown menu? Chosse what folder you want to add the title in (Probably "Owned" for now), then click "Move To"

Easy as kittens:)

I just recently updated my aficionado collection, see below :) There's quite a few I own that aint in the database and I've found it to be no where as good as DVD Profiler, which I also use.

Nice collection you have there, I noticed you have "The Janitor" is that any good? I've thought about getting it but wasn't sure if it was any good or not...

urgeok 11-08-2006 05:32 PM

i dont know where you guys find the time to log your DVDs..

i tried doing it for a while and gave up ..
i did a rough count - I'm over 3000 DVDs now (counting box sets as 1 DVD)
My wall unit is full and now i have to put the damn things in boxes like Zwoti.

I HATE that !

I blind bought it

I don't mind it, it entertained me... and they show how they made it which is a bonus for me and inspiring film makers

I keep adding to the list, only real copies with all the inserts/slipcovers etc...

I'll never finish though, too many and the list grows exponentially especially around the holidays.

Your trouble is the quantity. You have to keep up with adding the new stuff you get or it gets out of hand. I try to keep any new films I get to one side, so I know it's still got to be added. But recently I've been boxing stuff away, because of moving soon.

newb 11-09-2006 08:16 AM

why, because I want a bigger place to myself :D.... 4 bedrooms, two reception rooms, breakfast room and an outhose/shed I'll convert into a gym.
when, 'should' be within the next 2/3 weeks, solicitors doing their things... I'll be moving my things in dribs 'n drabs as I'll still be working in London, and where I'm living at the moment I have nothing forcing me to move everything in one go.
where, Northamptonshire, around 80 miles north of London, and a LOT cheaper. Luckly I wont have to commute every day, as I can kip (work nights) during the day where I currently live. Plus I'll have a back garden that backs onto the towns Cricket Club :) beers and free Cricket during the summer afternoons. :D
