Embarrassing music

So what music do you love, but are somewhat ashamed of? For me, it would have to be Daft Punk. Their music really gives me a good feeling, but it's just so damned cheesy. Driving around listening to "Da Funk" or "Robot Rock" on full blast will get you some very strange looks. Oh, and there's also a lot of horrible 80s synthpop, but let's not get into that.

Alright then. Let's hear your secret shame.

The_Return 10-26-2006 05:27 PM

Aqua

Not even ashamed to admit it anymore

Posher778 10-26-2006 05:28 PM

A couple of the backstreet boys songs... yes i said it. And some of the older michael jackson songs.

As a dyed-in-the-wool Punk & Classic Country fan, I'm embarassed by my love for bloated 70s arena rock

Peter Frampton
Deep Purple
ELO
Lynyrd Skynyrd
Molly Hatchet

and their contemporaries

Monster Magnet
Electric Wizard
Orange Goblin
Kyuss

urgeok 10-27-2006 08:10 AM

i think we were asked to pull down our pants in public like this before in another thread ..

my guilty pleasures are pretty bad ..

- pet shop boys
- abba
- disco in general

the homophobic retard that just got banned would have a field day with this :D

The Flayed One 10-27-2006 08:21 AM

Duran Duran is the group I get the most flak for digging on. I still think there awesome. At least I didn't say The Petshop Boys.

I'm ashamed of still liking a lot of cheesy 80's music, but I think it is understandable since I was going through school then and that was the music of my teen years. With regard to current stuff, I'd have to say hip-hop (I rarely listen to it, but I would be embarrassed to do so around others) and virtually anything that might be played on the radio.

Disease 10-30-2006 04:54 AM

I always feel embarresed when I listen to "They might be giants" even when I'm by myself, but they are great, but as much as I like them i feel like a dickhead for doing so.

Vodstok 10-30-2006 12:46 PM

These days... I actually like a decent amount of Justin Timberlake's stuff.

it's a bit of a change from all the Nine Inch Nails, Tool and Korn I usually listen too...

The Mothman 11-14-2006 03:07 PM

Moby.

he really does have some kickass songs

natural blues
extreme ways and so on

X¤MurderDoll¤X 11-14-2006 03:40 PM

I'm not really embarrassed but...

1. Hole (Mainly Nirvana fans... hole > nirvana)
2. Screeching Weasel (older stuff is what I like, they're a super poppy punk band though)
3. The Faint

top 3 that I get the most crap for having one or more of their cds, in order.

its a game where you drop kick the members of faint off the stage, it has some songs that you can cycle through as you play.

Screeching Weasel is I guess a cross between Therapy? and The Ramones.
