of organizing another top 100 list. I'll do all of the leg work again, but I was wondering if there would be any interest.

What would it be? Don't know, I'm open to suggestions. Maybe a 100 Greatest horror movie moments?

If you think this is overkill, let me know. I enjoyed doing the HDC Top 100, but I'm also a little leary of people thinking I'm trying to turn HDC into a VH1 channel.

Thoughts/questions/suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

how about the top 100 best lines (of dialogue) in a horror movie? (i can think of a few)

a remake thread .

its been done in the past but given the number of times the subject has come up (about a million-billion) it would be cool to track them formally and neatly in a sticky.

a list by date (origional - new version) and how it rates.

its always been piecemeal before - never a proper list ...

it will be the 1st time done - this way :D

You mean just a list of remakes, or from worst to first?

Others I've thought about:
100 Greatest kills
100 Best movies you've never seen

Or, the most interesting one: just give each member a space to pimp 5 movies that aren't on the HDC Top 100 they feel are must sees.

well, alphabetically would be nice but since the list will grow and we wont be able to edit the old post (or will we ?)

a lot of people new to the genre dont know the movies they are seeing are remakes ..

i thought it would be cool to compile a list - a thorough list. I'm betting we find films we didnt even know were remakes.

could even break 'remakes from foreign films' into a seperate section... or not..

@Disease - I'm not sure how you'd go about that. You'd almost have to have someone sit around and watch every horror movie ever made & count.

well, if you're feeling ambitious..

i think that one can be done with everyone interested just doing research.

the 100 best actors could be done the same way as the 1st top 10

My ambition only takes me so far. Like I said, I'd be willing to do the legwork on any type of list that the board would like to see, as long as I get good participation and there's interest.

Thought about that one quite a bit, although I'd probably rather do a 100 Most Disturbing.

AKA 100 worst or The HDC Bottom 100. Yeah, I've thought about that one too, and it's a definate possibility. If not this time, most likely in the near future

How about a bunch of fifferent top tens, such as top ten screams, top ten kills, top ten scores, you could go on and on and on...........................etc, etc

There have been so many horror icons from the 1900s till now, it would be great if you made a "HDC top 100 Horror Icons" thread...

it would be really interesting to see who all of us choose in the top 10...and the best horror icon of all time, for that matter...

I say definitely do a top 100 something...I think it's cool.

Top 100 Movie You've Never Seen seems alright, 'cept it wouldn't apply to urge and the like. They've seen it all.

My suggestion would be the top 100 taglines.

I definatly think the "Bottom 100" is an awesome idea.

Personally, I think Noctuary's "Best non-horror" would be really cool, too. Sooo broad, it would have to turn out a pretty cool list.

Bottom 100 Horror movies
Best 100 you've never seen (obscure)
100 Greatest Death scenes
100 Greatest roles/icons
Best 100 non-horror
100 Greatest lines

etc.

i like the sound of these two best, a top 100 non-horror movies chosen by horror fans, should be an interesting mix

and who can resist the 100 greatest lines, but i'll bet you'd get way more than 100 with more than 1 vote each.... if you do that one, you'll definitely "need a bigger boat" ;)

I would personally like to see a top 100 movies nobody has seen. As long as it's not just a list of foreign films. There are a lot of horror movies (new and old) that never got much publicity, but didn't completely suck.

thats a good idea .. they'll aways be someone who has something but we should be able to come up with a list of largely unknown gems.

thats a list with a lot of benefit.

just be prepared for a lot of old school :)
