The Grudge 2
Whos going to go see this movie on the 13th?I'm looking forward to it.
|
Im not.
Ive been meaning to re-watch the remake...hated it the first time, but I have the DVD so maybe I'll give it another chance. The previews for this new one just look stupid though...the kid standing on the table? Please. |
Nah, I'll pass on this one. Really not my cup of tea.
|
I'll watch it eventually. I was unimpressed with the first remake. didn't hate it by any means; just kind of "blah, whatever."
Got about 1,000 movies in front of it (literally) I might get to it by the time Grudge 16 is out in theaters and Sarah Michelle Geller is staring in the remake of The Golden Girls. |
The Grudge was ok have only seen it once mind so shall maybe watch it again and see the second one wouldnt say I would hurry myself to do so however.
|
Hated the first remake when I went to see it in theatres, but when rewatching it on DVD... I found myself enjoying it. It has a certain vibe to it that I really enjoyed.
I'm seeing the sequel this Sunday with a group of friends who all seem to be pretty freaked by the previews alone. I thought the trailers and footage released so far was pretty well done, not realistic, but so over-the-top and do-anything-to-scare-you that it would be fun to see. Not expecting a new The Descent or anything, just something worth 90 minutes of entertainment. |
idk this might be good. sam raimi is directing it.

Fuck, why does NOBODY know the difference between "producing" and "directing"? Sam IS NOT directing this film, he's PRODUCING it. Same way as he DIDNT direct Boogeyman...and Tim Burton DIDNT direct Nightmare Before Christmas. |
I watch the first one the other night and I wasn't too impressed. I'm seeing #2 tonight b/c my friends want to watch a movie before we hit the Haunted Houses.
|
I really do not know what to do... I want to do something special with my Aunt when she visits. We both love horror films. The Grudge 2, Texas Chainswaw Massacre: The Beginning, and Saw 3 are my only choices to take her out to a movie. I suspect that they will all suck. Someone please help me decide!

Saw this last night and I thought that it was better than the first one. There were better jump scares.
***********Spoiler******************************** I knew this would end-up being a trilogy as soon as the sister and the journalist started talking about the girl's mother and that she may be the answer to stopping the curse. But big surpirse the mother can't do shit and oh no the curse is going to speard. |
Watched it last night, I give it 1/10.
This movie was utterly awful, and really not worth movie go-ers time and money. It uses all the same scare tactics as the first and the original Ju-On movies as well as Ringu. It gets extremely repetitive, and very boring. It copies films so blatantly that any fan of J-Horror and Asian cinema will be disgusted by the shameful use of ideas stolen from classics such as Ringu and other horror using Japanese folklore, and even steals one scene from Oldboy. It will be displayed to a predominantly western audience who most of which will be oblivious to that fact. American re-makes are getting worse and worse, and even when Japanese directors give them a hand, its obvious the Americans get the last word. I beg of Hollywood companies to leave Asian cinema alone, and think up some of their own ideas instead of ruining classic movies just to line their pockets with more money from ignorant western audiences. Whether you're a fan of Asian or American horror, the mix of the two here will leave you feeling unsatisfied as the blending of the two is very far from subtle. They adopt the idea of multiple characters and story lines based around the same horror element (seen in such movies as Kairo) but does it badly, in a Tarantino style which just doesn't work for a horror. The acting on the whole was average, however the main Japanese schoolgirl sounds like she belongs in a badly dubbed martial arts movie. The 1/10 is awarded to the movie simply for seeing that same girl in a very short skirt. |
Terrible movie. Acting was HORRIBLE. Too confusing as well. Ending was dumb as well.
The only good thing about the movie was SMG and she got offed within the first half hour. |
I must agree that the Grudge was deffinately a waste of film. Was boring, short, and had nothing to it. Hopefully the second will be better, maybe they learned how to create more thrill and horror. I must say that the previews do make the movie seem alot scarier. I'll prob see it, what could it hurt.
