HDC Troll Feeders : a day at the zoo
 

Join us on a sunday afternoon where the HDC Troll Feeders decide to visit the zoo :

Troll Feeder : 'hey, lets go over to the polar bear cage and lean in and feed it some shit"

Other Troll Feeder : "fukin right dude, awwwsome idea - that bear is so fukin stoopid so lets feed it some rocks"

they march over to the polar bear pen and one of the troll feeders leans over the barrier with a rock in his hand going "hey stupid fucking bear, you're a stupid fucking small dick bear"

The bear says "oh yeah, lean over a little closer and say that"

So the Troll feeder says "ok stupid bear, hey buddy (TF#2) grab my ankles so i can lean in there closer"

So buddy does and TF#1 goes "hey you big stupid bear - you're stupid - and you smell bad - and you're stupid"

at this point, some other guy sees this and yells "hey man, what are you doing ? are you crazy ? that bear wants you to do that !"

TF#1 and TF#2 ignore the man because they are having soooo much fun. as a matter of fact this is the main reason they come to the zoo anyway .. well, that and meet chicks'

The polar bear who is now about 2 feet away from TF#1 says "hey asshole, why dont you come right in here and throw that rock at me"

TF#1 says "yeah stupid bear, thanks for the idea - you gave me that idea because you're so stupid" then he wriggles free of TF#2 and falls into the pen, starts to laugh and yell "ha ha stupid bear, now I'm gonna....." but before he can finish the bear rips his limbs off, crushes his skull noisely with his great jaws, then disembowels him, spraying crimson all over the ice and snow.

TF#2, seeing this, watches for a minute, then picks up another tiny stone and heads into the pen yelling "ha ha stupid bear, now it's my turn to hit you with a stone like my buddy did - because you're such a stupid bear"

The guy who tried to warn them watches tf#2 get ripped apart, shakes his head, then walks away - smiling.

"C'mon kids, I saw some Troll Feeders over by the lion cage"

I can not help but feel I have, in some way, partially inspired this semi-overly dramatic piece of comedic literature.

nah - its been going on for a long time



the point is pretty clear though..


why do people give them exactly what they want ?

logic would dictate they want to - sort of a willing symbiotic association.

In most cases, I'd say the trolls only get a few nibbles here, but this one we've got right now... Well, he's fun. Or maybe it's the ALL CAPS thing.... I don't know, but for whatever reason, we like him. He's only trying to prepare us for someone's coming, so that seems nice enough....

well, like i said - having fun is no problem ..

when you ignore them or just get silly - it lets the wind out of their sails.
plus if it turns out to be a friend having a goof - no one gets hurt.

its when it gets nasty that i think its troll feeding.

it never needs to get nasty.

if the person comes in here being a racist or derrogitory in some other base way then they just get banned and the post deleted -

Hmm. I have a hard time restraining myself when my natural tendancy is to call them as I see them. If I think someone is being a fuckin' idiot, I'll generally tell them so regardless of who they are or how long they've been here. There's a few people here that can vouch for that because I've done it to them.

So then it becomes a question of whether to speak your mind & feed the troll or let the troll continue unharrassed in their annoying ways. For me, it's much more fun to let them know what I think of 'em.

in time you'll learn to enjoy ignoring them more ...

its fun to watch them simply wither and fall off the vine.

Seriously, that was shit. You used the word stupid far to much in a sentence for it to be funny or intelligent. It just realy sucked. I couldn't read past the second paragraph without getting the fear of becomeing stupider overnight!

That's not fun! They usually just disappear a day later, never to be heard from again and never knowing that I think they are a complete fuckin' idiot.

I don't particularly want to make a big thing of this, but I figure that I should point something out.
When I read this thread, it struck me as a little "off"...I mean, I completely understand the point trying to be implied, but I think it would come across as a little more effective and a little less condescending if it wasn't from a person who themselves has actually made (I checked) 38 posts in the very (latest) thread they're more than likely referring to...I mean, I'm pretty sure that's right up there among the top.
Thing is, pretty much anyone who comments on the matter at all is guilty of adding to the "problem", as am I. Some people realise what they're doing, some people (yourself and myself among them) do, or should do. I just choose not to really care about it all that much, I've dropped in said what I was going to, and left.
Point is, pretty much everyone does it.

Nope. They only want attention, they want talking to and/or about them...Regardless of how witty your friendly retorts and passive insults may be (and I'm sure they are...) they're only going to waste when the person either doesn't care or understand them.
I'm sure that while you feel you're above descending into an argument with the person, direct insults or conflict, they're just getting off on it one way or another, they probably don't even pause to read all you have to say. As your posts about the matter in this or that thread grow, I'm sure the erections on their heads do too. Now, I know you're not an asshole, and you're not trying to be outrightly nasty about the person despite what you probably think about them...but, 30+ posts makes for a pretty big bag of troll chow.
So...that said,
Think about it;)

i did think about it ..

i assumed all along that this was a regular member goofing around - so i goofed back.

not once did i get insulting ..


it goes back to what i said about diluting the situation ..
a troll wants a direct confrontation... shit slinging ..
by making non-abrasive jokes - or ignoring - it takes away the fun for the troll.

i happened to want to take the 1st route.

i still think in THIS CASE it isnt a troll, just some regular having a goof..and i approached it as such.

some decided to take the low road ... the same ones always do.

but lets face it - there are several people here and all over the web that use trolls as personal punching bags - it provides them with a convenient - and to their minds - justified excuse to go apeshit in their own little ways.

and the real trolls - the problem trolls ... eat that shit up.
