The Book With No Name

Has anyone else read The Book With No Name by Anonymous?
It's all about a book with no name by an anonymous author, and everyone who reads it dies shortly afterwards. I'm halfway through it now, and just wanna know if anyone else has read it and lived to tell the tale !!!! lol

Sounds really gimmicky and self-conscious.

Morbid Fantasy 10-03-2006 06:36 PM

Ha. Sounds good actually. I wouldn't mind giving it a go.

I read it recently. I thought it was one of the most original books I've ever read, and very scary too!!! It was a bit like The Ring, only instead of everyone being killed after watching a video, they all get offed after reading The Book With No Name. Found it here on amazon after reading about how Borders won't stock it cos it's in bad taste. Ha!

How cool! I went right to Amazon and ordered it, the reviews on Amazon hooked me! Plus it is one of those free shipping deals, couldn't resist.

Well, I just finished reading it and I'm still alive to tell the tale. Damn good book. V scary. Anyone know who the author is, cos it doesn't say anywhere in the book?

Morbid Fantasy 10-10-2006 05:43 PM

I it ordered online. Should be getting it soon.

Roderick Usher 10-10-2006 06:44 PM

thanks, maineman:)

And if anyone finds out who the author is let me know. There's probably clues in the book if it's someone famous, but I'm damned if I could spot any.

Come on, now. For all we know, they could make tons of great contributions to The Picture Thread.

They'll just have to submit their pics through Rotten.com

I finished reading this last Monday. On Tuesday I got hit by a car. Just got back out of hospital with a cracked pelvis and a broken arm!!! Think I might send my copy to George Bush.

Morbid Fantasy 10-23-2006 08:22 PM

Read the first chapter and it's pretty good. Hopefully it stays interesting.

braider31 10-29-2006 06:23 AM

Anyone else suffered any potentially life threatening accidents since reading it? Is Morbid Fantasy still ok?

Morbid Fantasy 10-29-2006 07:49 AM

Still haven't finished it so yeah I'm ok for now. Knowing my scheduale I won't die in a freak accident for another few months.

Zero 10-30-2006 10:39 AM

so - was this a 'real' conversation - or were several of these people just hawking this book? and, if the latter, was it just one person (probably the author) creating accounts to make a 'spam' conversation? i find it fascinating. . . .in fact, i'm going to write a novel about lethal spam that once you read it you die (of frustration)
