Halloween Movie Line-Up
Now that its October its time to start planning on what movies (horror or horror related) you plan to watch over the month, like myself, or the movie maraton on Halloween night.
Sorry if theres already a thread started on this. Here is my list in particular order: 1) Bram Stoker's Dracula 2) Dracula: Dead and Loving It 3) Freddy VS. Jason 4) Ghostbusters (I&II) 5) Scream (I-III) 6) Silent Hill 7) Sleepy Hollow 8) Van Helsing My friend will probably bring Halloween over and I may rent a few horror movies I haven't seen yet, Hills have eyes, the Fog, Venom, ect... |
If you rent The Fog, make sure it's the old one. The new one was the most boring shit I've ever seen.

On Halloween night, I like watching films that are set on Halloween night. It adds a level of realism, in some sense. Here's some films I've been meaning to see, broken down into categories.

It was straight-to-video, with a lot of low-key or unknown actors.

i wont be home because im going trick or treating i cant wait. lol i am 17 and yet i still can and adore going trick or treating lol my dad and his gf and her son and my brother are all going trick or treating this year. i just cant wait. im so excited. but i would like to know why they only play some of the movies sequels like they always play halloween 4 and 5 but forget about 1-3. oh well its all good. oh i liked when amc (genious horror movies channels or 47) played only the movies sequels like tremors 2, children of the corn 2 etc. i like that.
does anyone see the preview for halloweentowncollege or whatever on disney what smuck they dont have the same marnie where did kimberly j brown go? :( |
Halloween Movie Line-Up
I'm still gonna go trick or treating but I'm not going to the school then next day because it's my dad's birthday that day so I can watch most of those movies.
|
I narrowed down my list. I think it's a little stronger now. Most of them are set on Halloween, or have a strong vibe.
A Nightmare on Elm Street Friday the 13th I & II Evil Dead I & II Halloween I & II Pumpkin Karver House of 1000 Corpses Night of the Demons I & II Ernest Scared Stupid The Roost Boo! |
I have a very small horror collection so i'll watch thouse along with AMC's Monstefest
My horror collection (so far) includes On VHS Halloween The Evil Dead Terror In the Aisles On DVD Poltergeist Child's Play 2 Halloween 2 Nightmare On Elm Street Scream Night of the Living Dead Comedy Horror (Horromedy I Call It) Army of Darkness Bride of Chucky Buffy the Vampire Slayer Ghostbusters 1 & 2 Idle Hands And Shaun of the Dead I'm planning on buying more but im tight on money at the moment |
I love the list, although might I suggest replacing Bram Stokers Dracula (i'm guessing you are talking about Francis Coppolas movie). as a fan of the book I was excited about the movie, however after seeing it, I was let down. it pales in comparison to the book, as well he added some adjustments to the end that I found rather disappointing. sadly in my mind though its the only decent dracula movie released with the exception of Nosferatu

Nothing feels quite as "halloweeny" to me as Sleepy Hollow.
It's got witches, blood, the undead, rolling heads plus Christopher Lee & Johnny Depp:D |
You Mean Christopher Walken

I remember loving Lee's cameo in the film. I hadn't seen Lee in a theatrical release since I think 1979...so I was like, "Okay, this is worth the price of admission already and everything else is gravy!"
I did like Sleepy Hollow quite a bit. Very creative mutation of the original story and there are some really fine special effects. |
Because I have way too much time on my hands, I do theme nights.
Rob Zombie Night = House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects Dee Wallace Stone Night = Cujo, The Howling, and The Hills Have Eyes Original vs. Remake Night = When a Stranger Calls, The Fog, (insert any of what seems like a laundry list of remakes here) US vs. Asian Night = The Ring vs. Ringu and The Grudge vs. Ju-on Mutant/Cannibal Night = Wrong Turn and both The Hills Have Eyes Masked Mayhem Night = Halloween, Friday the 13th, and Scream I think you get the point. Like I said, I have quite possibly the most pathetic life imaginable.:D |

im' slowly weening my nephew into the horror genres, he is only 5, but since he was 3 we have made it a tradition to pull out nightmare before x-mas for the whole month of october and that becomes our monthly movie, he loves it! so that in my mind is always great on to have on the list.
