What is the "Next Generation" one? I read somewhere that it was kind of like a remake.

And thanks for the list. :)

bbeastieboy 09-30-2006 12:15 PM

Next Generation
I haven't seen it. It came out in 1994.
It stars Matthew McConaughey, which is why I haven't seen it yet. I was going to rent it last Wednesday, cheap day, at my local video station. I'll rent it next Wednesday and I'll tell you if it's any good if you like.

That would be great.

Thanks again.

No problem my friend.

The Flayed One 09-30-2006 01:37 PM

Most people think that it's terrible. I really didn't mind it. It's nowhere comparable to the original, TCM2 or even the remake. Leatherface (part 3) isn't the greatest movie in the world, but it's still a cut above Next Generation. I personally think it's worth a rent or a bargain bin buy if you like completing collections. It will most likely be a dust collector after you watch it once, though.

Renee Zellweger is also in it.

There are very few films I watch more than once anyways, so that wouldn't bother me.

The next trick is finding a decently cheap copy. lol

horrormad 09-30-2006 03:36 PM

the tcm with renee in it was basicly the simple tcm movie. crash guy passes out. girl and go go get help and both die because the went on the rack. oh and i nearly forgot theres the infamous hooks in it too. also leathery does his retard chainsaw thing at the end

I'm not British or a Yankee. I'm from the south...My Wal-Mart doesn't even have a movie bargain bin. :(

Really? That sucks!

The Wal-Mart here has a pretty crappy bargain bin (Just cause Ive picked throught it so many times I already have everything good), but Ive been in some Wal-Marts in the states (Maine) and the bargain bins are KICKASS.

Shame you dont have any...

Elvis_Christ 09-30-2006 06:03 PM

The Next Generation floats about really cheaply over here.

... its pretty lame and doesn't really have any good scenes to redeem itself. Leatherface looks really stupid in this one (worst no effort make job ever).... and the X-Flies style ending just makes you wana fucking punch whoever shit on this great series with this piss poor entry. I picked it up to complete the collection (all on VHS :) ).

Hopefully The Beginning won't be this terrible

There is a Wal-mart about an hour and a half away that has one, but with the gas priced being as high as they are, I'd be better off to go buy the uncheap copy in a store that's closer to me.

Shadow 10-02-2006 03:44 AM

STAY AWAY FROM THAT MOVIE.

Shadow 10-04-2006 10:51 AM

I understand now how shocking it was to you (v clown have you really not seen jaws lol). Anyway no bad feelings bout the HE comment but seriously prepare for more shocking comments and silly questions lol.

horrormad 10-08-2006 09:30 AM

i donmt know if any1 has noticed this but at the beggining of the original tcm it says this really happend even though he shot peole and worked alone and i dont even think that the hitchhiker or the people were involed. it was 2 woman i think who were killed and , i dont know alot about texas but it actually took place in smallville, wisconsin.
i dont thinks thats texas.

Shadow 10-09-2006 10:56 AM

Was it not just based on some of the events that happened? Sure to make a film big they have to change stuff. As for the setting I would have no clue as I am from the UK (probably why I havent seen the oringinal its not all that big or talked aobut over here)

Actually I think it's plainfield Wisconsin. Based on Ed Gein. Most horror movies are in some fact or another. TCM didn't actually really happen.

horrormad 10-10-2006 08:51 AM

yeah thats it. it was sumthing wierd like that.
although thats a bit gay that they said it was true cos i saw it and thought that really happened becase iused to get scared wen i my nan moved to texas cos dats wot it said.
i think i'll sue em!

The_Return 10-10-2006 11:36 AM

...and the stupidest discussion on HDC is:

*drumroll please*

bbeastieboy 10-10-2006 02:25 PM

you are an idiot if you think that the beginning of it was true (the whole fake film with leatherface attacking the police investigators at the 'real' house)

Shadow 10-21-2006 10:06 AM

OK just a kinda update. I know some of you were shocked to discover that I had not seen the original TCM. Well I have now and I must say I was rather disappointed. I found it well boring. Some parts well they acctually raised a little giggle but thats about it. I have also rented TCM 2 and am unsure how that is gonna go. Anyway just letting you guys know that I have now seen the original and I guess I shouldnt have got myself so excited about it.

Pity you didn't like the original. I dug it a lot more after rewatching it.

TCM 2 is great hopefully you'll like that one better. Crazy comic book style flick with a bunch of gore. I love it :D

If you didnt like the first, you'll love the second.

I personally think they're both fantastic films, but for totally different reasons. While one goes for realism, the other goes 100% in the opposite direction.

Hope you enjoy it:)

illdojo 10-21-2006 06:19 PM

I love the first 2. They are both amazing films. pt.3 "Leatherface" is pretty good ... pt. 4 "the next generation" It is total SHIT!!!! Know one ever dies by a chainsaw and Leatherface is in a DRESS. A lot of people hated the 2004 remake but I liked it.
I have not seen the "the begining" yet.....but i'm sure it will be good.

Thank you all for your comments. I think I may rewatch the oringinal TCM. Also you have lifted my hopes for TCM2. I think it was perhapes that I was so looking forward to watching it. (is that sad lol) Parts were good but I will watch it again and then watch the 2nd.

AmericanManiac 10-23-2006 06:16 AM

I am 21 years old I must say that TCM Original is one of my favorite films, one reason is it has landed the horror Genre where it is today it's a fucking great classic ! Part 2 Chop Top is the man (Bill Mosely) need I say more ? The Next Generation i'm going to have to agree with 92.235% of people here it's total crap! The ending I almost fell off of my couch laughing. The remake of TCM could of been better if they wouldn't of taken a video director (never directed a film) and MTV'd the son of a bitch, it was still a decent remake. TCM The Beginning=a sweet fucking movie, with a great story as how Leather face became the brutal sadistic sick fuck that he his.

Inspired By Ed Gein which I may add actually did where a mask made of vicitims (corpses only he dug them up as the "crazy hitchhiker" did in the orignal). Ed Gein is only too of known murdered two people. For those of you who really don't know what he did, he actually did eat the "meat" from his one victim, he had bowls he made out of their bones. I just won an auction on ebay with about 50 pages of police reports, pshyic evaluation, birth certificate and death certificate on Mr. Gein if any of you are interestd when I receive these documents I would be gladly to scan them and email them to you if you would like to learn more about him. Your correct it did happen in plainfield, they only put This actually happened to get a bigger audience, and to scare the fuck out of people at the time.

You have to love the United States for allowing our country to have some SICK FUCKS to go down in one of the most bizarre accounts in American History :D

Edit : I Just went out and bought TCM 2 thanks a lot for making me do it !!! Another Horror movie to add to my collection yah! Part of me hates you and parts of me like you :)

Also I might add anyone who is looking to buy TCM that doesnt have it get the new 2disc it is the shiznit!

Shadow 11-06-2006 03:08 AM

Wow that was a lot of reading lol but thank you very interesting. Ok I think I have decided that I do like TCM. I may watch Leatherface and Next generation at some point and I believe I am looking forward to watching The Begining. TCM2 was good really quite funny (is it wrong to think so lol) Thank you all for getting me to watch these films and I will keep you updated as I watch the rest.
