Quintessential Halloween Films
 

What are the films that you guys would consider "must-sees" for the Holloween season? Films that get you in the mood, whether it be from fear or sheer enjoyment.

For me, both The Evil Dead (I & II) and House of 1000 Corpses get me in the mood the most.

Disney's "the Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad." is another one that is required viewing in October. the way Disney useta use color is amazing. plus, this is an amazing combo of being scary and funny... something Disney useta be masters of.

I can't believe none of you have mentioned the classics! Every year on Halloween night I HAVE to watch Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, Son of Frankenstein, etc. Plus I have to throw in what Hammer movies I have.

It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

Every Halloween I break out the Black Cauldron dvd and watch the Donald Duck short "Trick or Treat". Witch Hazel is great.

I dont really have any traditions...watched Dungeon of Harrow last year. Cool movie...fucking bizare, but cool.

every Halloween at midnight it has to be my fave...the one...the only...The EXORCIST

But looking at you guys getting lists together has got me really up for it...am gonna have to compile one myself.

Nightmare Before Christmas will be a good starting point...hmmm right am gonna have to do me a list now.:)

I watch Tales from the Crypt's "The Third pig" every halloween night. It's an animated horror version of the Three Little Pigs story. Bobcat Goldthwait and Brad Garrett do some of the voice acting. :D

Start some! traditions are an awesome and ancient way to mark the seasons of the year!

I have traditions surrounding nearly every holiday - even if they are a bit odd.

i try to watch a horror movie at halloween ..but not one specific one.

something kid-friendly for my son if there's time after the trick or treating, and something for myself later. (my wife will watch less and less of these things as time goes on)

I think I'm going to try to upload it to a gmail account and then make the password public. Youtube just gave me a headache and this way you can put it on a DVD. :D

It's recorded from tv so it's perfectly legal (I think, I mean that was the main idea for the vcr right? :confused: )

There's nothing bad about using google video is there? Also, if you upload a video on google video can you also download it?

OK, I guess tape recording an episode from an original HBO series and letting people watch it for free is not allowed. (Think about that next time you tape a show and invite people to watch it with you, they could nark on you and have you sent to the big house. :p )Anyway... I have a stupid upload limit, so I have to check what it's at before I re-upload it somewhere else. Anybody know a good site that I can upload it to so that HDC members can download it?
