food/flavour combinations...

The thread title covers it sufficiently.
Some combinations just rock out together...I'll post a few of my favourites, you post a few of yours.

Cheese and tomato...it's like...the best ever.

Chocolate and orange

Cumin and lamb

Duck + pomegranete

Garlic, chilli, ginger.

cofee + caramel

bok choy and oyster sauce

lime and chilli

carrot and orange (the juice is great)

star anise and soy

Tamarind, lemon juice, corriander

Passionfruit and banana

I don't even know why I made this thread...kinda wasted...
Anyone else have some stuff that they just gotta have together?

Frangelico and cointreu

dried peas with wasabi

roast beef + hot english mustard

tomato and rosemary

avocado + smoked salmon + capers (another damn near pefect one right there)

Red meat (beef or kangaroo in particular) + red wine...not in terms of drinking it, but basing a sauce around it...just, wow.

Totally agree on the apples and cheese thing too. I tried an apple baked cheese once...whatever that means, it was just completely different to anything I'd ever had. Served with a sliver of apple. Good, good stuff.
