While we're on the topic of ghosts...
There's an old abandoned insane asylum in Peoria, IL (20 miles from where I used to live) that shut down in 1972. Patients were tortured there. People swear that it's haunted. If you have time, follow this link and read the Old Book story. It will freak you out.

You're right.

I WANT to read that story but I'm home alone and if I do I'm gonna be completely spooked...I'll have to read it tomorrow. I'm way too chicken to see scary stuff when I'm here by myself. From what you mentioned about tortured asylum patients I'm guessing there are some spooky stories about it....can't wait!

Very cool I love ghost stories! I wanted to tell you guys about somthing that happened to me when i was 5 years old. i had just had surgery on my female parts to stop me from weting the bed. they sent me home, i woke up in the middle of the night and i was wet so i canged and went back to bed, later that night about 4 in the morning i felt somthing touch my shoulder. i looked and it was a female figure you could see right through. i don't know if it was an angel or a ghost but i got up and turned on the light she was gone, but i was covered in blood and so was my bed. my mom took me to the hospital. they said if i would have slept for 2 more hours i would have died. i did have to have a blood transfuson. but what ever woke me that night angel or ghost it saved my life! :D :D

my girlfriend has'nt gone back to burbon street since but me and two of my friends that i told go every year but we have'nt heard anything. i have alot more stuff i could say on this subject countless things have happened to me having to do with paranormal/supernatural. |
Peoria asylum
You know, I've read a good bit about that old asylum. My sister in law is from Peoria. I wonder what she knows. To me, old asylums and or hospitals are the creepiest. They probably contain the most psychic energy due to the types of people who've lived there.
Also, I'm enjoying the stories you guys are sharing. Never had a ghostly experience myself, but as a Witch, I've seen some pretty interesting things. Cheers |
allot of supernatual things have happened to me ill write one down soon...

ive had alot of stuff happen to me dealing with the suprenatural.
im sure most have u have heard of the plantation near New Orleans that is one of the most haunted places in america. well my aunt now owns that......i believe shes truned it in to some attraction shit but sometimes me, her and a few of our friends will spend the weekend there. there are over 80 ghosts on that plantation and ive had several expericnes with them (my house i live in is also haunted). if you want to know about all of my experiences then ask me and ill tell you. the one ill tell you about is my first encounter with Ellie (a little african american girl who runs up and down the halls. When i was 7 mom and i had just returned from Egypt and went to visit my aunt. My aunt Rayne and i were going to stay on the plantation for my first time (now i usually spend a total of 2 months at that plantation) anyway, my aunt told me not to worry that i wouldnt get hurt the goshts are not poltrigist (spelling?) i had been there a few hours and i was walking to the kitchen for a snack when i heard a laugh and someone pulled at my ponytail, thinking it was my cousin josh i turned around to punch him.......but noone was there. to be honest i was really scared so i ran down the stairs when someone tripped me and i rolled down about 12 steps and hit the grounding. banged up and sore i got up and decided i was going outside, to hell with whatever pushed me. i got to the door and it slammed shut in my face, i was like ok its cool i just use another door. i turned around and there was a little african american girl in an old dress with piggy tails. she was laughing and making faces at me. i had originally (spelling?) pictured some demonic creature that was doin that but seeing it was a little girl about my age i wasnt scared. i stuck my tounge out at her and said "bug off" she followed me into the kitchen and watched me eat some cookies i went out side and she followed but went away when she saw my aunt. i asked aunt Rayne about her and she told me her name was Ellie and she died in the house. her owners were very kind to the slave children, they treated them like their own. Ellie was the mistress' favorite and was treated like a member of the family. she was very playful but died of a fever when she was only 8. the rest of the story is vague but during that time slaves were not permitted proper burial in graveyards, but under the cover of darkness the mistress and 4 other slaves (against the will of her husband) burried Ellie in the family plot in an un marked grave, when he found out the husband was furious, beat his wife, wipped the slaves involved in the burial, and removed ellie's body and moved it to an unknown location.............he was the only one who knew the exact location. he died shortly after from a fever, and took his knowledge of the location to his grave. after that ellies spirit runs through the halls. its really sad but she was my playmate untill i turned 12 and started dressing the way i do now..........but i still see her and she sometimes plays little pranks on me (she moves my things around, trips me, pulls my hair) the last time i was there she got in bed with me and pushed out. when i looked up i could see her image leaning over the bed laughing. shes become quite a pest.......but i feel sorry for her and on the first day of my arival for a visit i leave lollypops on the kitchen table.........i later get to pick up the rappers and the stick. some of the other ghosts there are very scarry and im afraid of alot of them....but ill tell you my experiences with them some other time :) |
There are alot more ghost stories on previous threads made..try history threads labeled Ghost stories and there are a couple other on the same page..interesting stuff...;)They're on page 21-22 of the threads from beginning

hey there
well when i was 11, i was in london then, i was in my mom rooms reading comics... when all of a sudden we heard this loud bang... coming from the attic..... now everyone was scared, my bro, his gf , my 2 sisters and mom.... ofcourse mom started saying her prayers and asking god to protect us. all of a sudden the noises stopped... my bro and his gf ran to my sis room... we followed then and i was suprised to see a ouija board on the floor.... it seemed my bro his gf and my sisters were using it.... when they sat around it again and put there fingers on the thingy that moves (forgot what its called??/) the thing spelled out clearly ,,, see i told you i can prove i am here and living in your attic. everyone was scared... i was found it cool because of the goose bumps i had...
