The greatest song ever made.

in your opinion, what is the greatest song ever made?

i would have to say it would be Keep On Rocking in The Free World by Neil Young.

Posher778 08-31-2006 05:32 PM

Beyond the Sea by Bobby Darin

The_Return 08-31-2006 07:38 PM

Drunken Sailor

Really, Im not joking.

Recorded versions just dont do it justice, but if you ever hear this song performed live by anyone with some degree of talent, you'll understand. Talent isnt even nessesary really...just energy. Such an energic and fun song...I was lucky enought to see Great Big Sea perform this on stage. Breathtaking.

Everyday? Rave On? True Love Ways? Peggy Sue? Maybe Baby? Oh Boy?

kind of a geek for Buddy Holly - I played him in the musical tour of "Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story"

AUSTIN316426808 09-01-2006 05:14 PM

I like all of those but I don't think they're what I'm thinking about.

You forgot 'That'll Be The Day', my favorite.

Miss Olivia 09-05-2006 09:29 PM

Flight of Icarus is awesome, but if we're talking Maiden here I have to go for The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. That is an EPIC song. Yay Bruce.

Elvis_Christ 09-06-2006 05:36 PM

Right now for me its Miss X by the MC5.

They were quite possibly THE greatest band ever..... well one of them at least. The real rock n' roll revolutionaries.

Yep, that's the one.

Good luck with that one, 100 songs has to be harder than movies.

Roderick Usher 09-08-2006 03:56 PM

Amazing how influential Buddy Holly was.

- The Beatles wanted a name that sounded like The Crickets
- John Lennon never wore his glasses on stage until he saw Buddy on tv
- The Rolling Stone's first single was a cover of "Not Fade Away"
- the Hollies are named after him

and it's made all the more impressive by the fact that there were 16 months from the time he had his first hit (That'll be the Day) and his death.

Four words for you : Hallowed be Thy Name!!!

Iron Maiden has to be one of the gayest... not greatest bands of all time.

I have no idea how anyone likes them.

Jacob Singer 09-12-2006 12:13 AM

In case you did not understand, I was merely pointing out that saying shit like "this band sucks" simply goes nowhere. Its called irony...

I might hate John Lennon's music, but I'm not going to shove it down everybody's throat like that other guy did with Maiden, except of course when I reply to stupid comments.

Oh and yeah, nice meeting you too...
