Now this game scared me !!
I've only ever tried Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 4 has anyone else tried this game?

The Silent Hill series is great. You should really try out the other games in the series as well. Part 1 is a bit dated graphically by modern standards, but the story and imagery is still top notch. It might be a bit hard to find now though.

Silent Hill series is a great series. One of my favorite and one of the best in horror gaming.

I have a love/hate relationship with Silent.

I love Silent Hills plot. The writing is superb. And the stories within the main plot are good. It's very creepy and it will give you a scare here and there.

I hate Silent Hills gameplay. It's horrible. Silent Hill is a Resident Evil rip-off. The sad thing is, RE has evolved. back and forth levels. The combat controls suck. All the characters move like robots.

The games aren't really fun. They basicly keep you going forth just for the plot. And sometimes, that's not even enough. But every plot goes unsolved :rolleyes: . Just so they can make more games.

But too each their own.

I've played them all but had such a hard time with them I never did get to far.The 3rd one really gave me a hard time.I just spent most of my time running back and forth from place to place and not getting anything done.

havnt played the game that much, but the movie was fucking awful.

Yeah that was the way SE 3 was for me.

I am a huge Silent Hill fan! I really would disagree about it being a rip off of Resident Evil, which I am also a huge fan of. They have totally different atmospheres and plots. The only thing they have in common is that they are both survival horror games. I liked the game play and found it really fitting for the atmosphere. I think that 2 is the best one I really hated the story in three but it was scary to play. Its all about whether or not this is you type of thing.

Resident Evil is a action game comparing to Silent Hill.Ive finished all of them except The Room.i didnt have time.i heard that the 5th part is released but hevent seen it yet..Part 3 is DELUX.the riddles and the atmosphere,specially when youre stoned in the middle of the night...
the only minus(maybe) is that you cant get killed easily....

I've never played Silent Hill stoned, I'll have to try it.

I played that condemned game stoned...and it took me forever bc I was so scared.

Yeah Silent Hill is DEF NOT A RIP OFF of RE. The controls yeah, the look yeah but it had a completely different aura around it.

THE ONLY WAY it would be a rip off is if it included zombies.

You can't rip off something that has a completely different story.

Love them both though.

The game is actually really scary! Haha I quite liked the film to be honest! But in the cinema when the girl goes "COME" I screamed at the top of my voice "IN MY FACE !!" :o my friends roared with laughter XD

I adore the game it really is a scary game :]

Watched the movie last night. I loved it in theaters and I loved it on DVD

Silent Hill 2 and 3 were hardcore..4 was good but hard and i never got to finish it. But definetly a recommendation

Okay I'll have to explain myself as nobody understands me XD

Basically I'm a bit odd and if I think something looks like something or reminds me of soemthign they will never be called by their real name so the Pyramid Heads reminded me of triangular cheese graters so they are called Cheese Graters like my ex reminds me of a dickhead he is now officially James Dick'ed

OHHHHH gotcha. I call it Pyramid Head or Red Pyramid. But yeah If you liked 2 and 4 then give 3 a go. It was my favorite in the series quite honestly.

I'll have to buy it ^_^ haha my mum will probably end up playign it she's really weird she listens to my music, watches my DVDs and plays my games she's like a big kid really :]

Never played the games, but I really liked the movie. I dont usually like this kind of game, but I still think I might check it out.

I never finished SH 1. Beat SH2 like 3 times and SH 3 was great abut I didn't finish it. The funny thing is one of my favorite series lol.

When I played SH2 and I met PyramidHead HOLY shit, Or when hes chasing you in the Hallway OMFG.

My Friend made me a pyramidhead shirt it was cheap but I knew what was up.

I love dressing up. At Halloween we're all going dressed up as horror movie characters and I'm either going as the bride of Chucky or Chucky as a girl [with short dungarees and red leather boots] arg but I need to dye my hair red EEEEK

Definately 1 and 2 but I really enjoyed 3, I'm gonna go out and buy all of them.

Played and completed all 4 games quite a few times. Silent Hill 4: The Room was the hardest to beat.

The control system for both Silent Hill and Resident Evil are so far apart. There was no melee weapons in the first Resident Evil, movement was so very different and Silent Hills map was so much larger with a wider variety of enemies (unless you count the 3 different colored shirts on the zombies as 3 different enemies).

The movie was exactly like the game, you understood somethings at the beginning that later become lies, slowly the story unfolds until in the end the truth is revealed which leads to bloodshed.

Yes it could have had a stronger plot, but then again so could most movies released now a days.

The Controls were the same as in the fact of like square to run hold a shoulder button to shoot, except you could walk while holding up your gun.

Silent Hill is thre best horror series(although I loved Resident Evil)

I heard this rumour or something that there's mean to be one PyramidHead and he represents one man's sexual frustration so thats why he kills the way that he does
If thats true I wondered if because Silent Hill was all about Alyssa's nightmares then perhaps he represented Colin the janitor raping her and her anger at him?

I dont reallyknow what you are saying, but Pyramidhead has nothing to do with the janitor. He's not unique to the movie. He was a character in the second game.

Pyramid Head certainly does not represent sexual frustration. According to the game, the "red pyramid" costume was worn by the executioners in the old prison. The reason that James keeps running into Pyramid Head is because, subconsciously, he knows that he is guilty of a terrible deed and desires to be punished for what he did.

As for why he's in the movie... fanservice, I suppose.

Its really great to see someone else who understands Silent Hill as a game. Your the first I've met on here.

part 2 is my favorite.

Part two is the first one I really played and beat. I was hooked on it for a few months trying to go through the different difficulties.

I love the first one but I have never beaten it.

I'm a big fan of Silent Hill saga, the only game that doesn't work for me was the SH 3, it took the plot from the first part with more action...if a want a action horror game I'll play Resident Evil. What ever, as a fan I would prefer that the film has a original plot even if the Pyramid head doesn't appear. The plot of the film sucks, all the sect was stupid (is a witch Burn her!!!!) and the ending (massacre part) looks like a joke.

i actually got scared playing this game and the other game was resident evil lol funny story behind that. there was this guy who dead and i said hahaha he got pecked to death by crows and then i got attacked and killed by the crows what irony lol.
