urgeok 08-18-2006 06:14 AM

Sorry, my bad.

Was thinking of the "Tripods" series. :o

The book is sitting on my shelf...never got past the first line. Something to do with "When a day that you know is Wednsady sounds like a Saturday, you know there's something seriously wrong"

I had a good laugh and put the book back on the shelf:p

its funny but i still thought you were talking about Wyndam's Day of the Triffids.

i havent read any wyndam for a long time (the crysalids and the midwich cucoos are a couple others) but the lasting impression i had was that his storys peter out at the end...(i found that with Clive Barker too ... maybe its a UK fantasy author thing)

i though you were referring to that ...

Nope.

I think youīre forgetting that iīm a co-owner of a book shop. So i donīt have time to read books.;) :D

Only seen the movie. And yes, a remake would be suitable coz its really, really outdated.

A giant plant!! Uuuhhh, scary..

urgeok 08-18-2006 07:07 AM

Day of the Triffids is a great horror movie. The plants in it are SCARY, and they have disgusting squishy feet that make me want to shudder. The idea of almost everybody being blind with giant man-eating plants on the loose is a great one for the creepy crawlies....and if they remade it, even though the original is great, I'd probably be first in line to see it.

I had been thinking that for a long time.

Funny.. Long before M Night Shyamalan ever put pen to paper, this movie answered "Why would aliens colonize a planet that is 80% water if it kills them?"

Easy "They are mindless". Plus, it was seawater.
