Masters of Horror questions

Does anyone know if these Masters of Horror episodes are on DVD yet, or if they will be soon?

-Dance of the Dead
-The Fair-Haired Child
-Pick Me Up
-Haeckel's Tale
-Imprint

Also, I can't find the episode 'Jenifer' on DVD anywhere except eBay, can anyone help me figure this out?

VampiricClown 08-15-2006 03:42 PM

Pick Me Up is the only one out of the ones you mentioned that is.

bbeastieboy 08-15-2006 03:46 PM

Pick Me Up is episode 11, episodes 3 and 4 (Dance of the Dead and Jenifer) have not been released, to my knowledge. #1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 have.
out of 13, 7 are on DVD.
Why?

Not until Oct. 17 according to DVD Affictionado.

Jenifer, on the other hand, was released today.

bbeastieboy 08-15-2006 03:50 PM

They arent relesing them in the order they aired.

Dance of the Dead is released in Sept 12 I believe, and as I said, Jenifer came out today.

Note- These dates are for the Anchor Bay releases. Another company, Midget Entertainment, is releasing them as well, but Ive never seen their DVDs in stores, just the Anchor Bay ones.

Yes, all I have seen are the Anchor Bay DVDs. I live in Canada, so the dates might be a bit different, but thanks for the info, I appreciate it greatly.
I have Homecoming, Cigarette Burns, Sick Girl, and Deer Woman on DVD, buying the rest this week.

I wish I'd have thought of that sooner but I had 5 of 'em by the time that I did. Not that big of a deal though, it's not that terribly interesting.

bbeastieboy 08-15-2006 06:04 PM

Alright. Well I bought Jenifer about half an hour ago. Let's get this straight, which ones are on DVD right now?

-Cigarette Burns
-Dreams in the Which House
-Chocolate
-Incident On And Off A Mountain Road
-Sick Girl
-Deer Woman
-Homecoming
-Jenifer

That's what I've got sitting in front of me and I plan on picking up Jennifer in the near future. Not sure how/where VC got ahold of Pick Me Up.

bbeastieboy 08-15-2006 10:24 PM

Alright, great, thanks. All I need are Dreams, Chocolate, and Incident.
Any idea why Homecoming and Jenifer's box arts differ from the rest? I thought the first ones were really cool, with the silver effects and the portrait of the director in front, and little pieces from the film on front, but Homecomings and Jenifers box arts are pretty lame.

Amen to that, but I have a feeling that the boxset will be ridiculously expensive as well!

Maybe it's the director's decision?

I have found that so far, Anchor Bay has done the most to please consumers. All of the DVD's I have by Anchor Bay have been packed with little bonuses and special features. In Evil Dead they included a mini booklet of an interview with the 3 girl stars. Little things like that make me buy their products.

Usually Id agree with you, Im also a fan of Anchor Bay's releases. But I really think they fucked up with the packaging on the MOH series...

Im mean, look how cool they all look together on a shelf (spines facing out), up until Homecoming and Jenifer.

bbeastieboy 08-17-2006 12:39 PM

I know, they look totally different, and totally retarded.

Oh well, I just put Jenifer in a different spot then the rest...disapointing, but not as major as Id thought.

Just got it myself and that pissed me off too.

bbeastieboy 10-01-2006 10:44 PM

today I bought Dreams in the Witch House. Yesterday, Imprint. I now have all of them (so far).

_____V_____ 10-01-2006 11:56 PM

Like Urge, I m waiting for all of em to be released in a box-set.

Makes no sense purchasing em one by one until eventually they decide to release a box-set all of a sudden with a couple extras like featurettes and bonus stuff thrown in.

Even if its slightly expensive, it will be worth every penny, plus I ll have all the episodes together in one buy, instead of going hunting for each episode's DVD separately.

The_Return 10-02-2006 01:02 PM

I actually kind of like it this way...more anticipation. If I had just bought a boxset, I would have already watched them all by now...I wouldnt have an exciting DVD to wait for once every month or so.

I dunno...Maybe Im just weird like that:p

Yeah, I like it better this way. It's way more affordable, and hunting them down is way more fun than buying them all in one big box. Just like how I have all the Nightmare On Elm Street movies on VHS, and half of them on DVD already. Along with the halloween series.
