'I Sold It on ebay' new company
So there is this new store that may already be in your town or coming soon, called- I Sold It on ebay.
You take the object(s) you want to sell to an actual store, the workers take a picture of said object(s) ,list it on ebay for you and if it doesn't sell (with in a time frame I image)-you do not have to pay for it (what that means I am not exactly sure) Anybody use this service? How does it rate? And any other info anyone has would be greatly appreciated:) |
"The 40 yr Old Virgin" had such a store in the story.
I don't know what that means to your post.....its the fucking heat....its getting to me....IT WILL GET YOU TO! |
Such a wealth of information-lol
I'm sarcastic cause it's hot:p |
I just got a weird email from ebay saying congratulations on my first purchase.....but I didn't buy anything. I have an account, but I've never gotten anything.
Is it some kind of rip-off or what? |
Yep, it's probably an identity theft phishing email. Clicking on its link will probably take you to a site that looks like ebay and may have a similar address, but it's not. It's a fake site.
They'll want you to log in-------------they'll get your password info if you do that. And then they'll do all god knows what. There's hundreds of thousands of those kinds of mails sent daily. If not more. |
It's a bait that they hope you'll fall for. You'll read the email and say, "This must be a mistake, I never bought this item," or "I never sold this item," and your first instinct will be to click the link. Then you'll "report" the "problem." But in order to report it you'll have to "log in," but you're not really logging in. You just think you are. What you're actually doing is giving your access info to some stranger that wants to use it for a nefarious purpose.
Visiting Ebay's security center is useful because they have all kinds of info on how to IDENTIFY these kinds of phishing mails. Having to deal with this stuff is one of the prices a person pays for doing business on the net. Taking the time to check these things out is a bitch--but it's better than being THEIR bitch, if you know what I mean. |
Thank you. That was incredibly helpful.
Bastards. They're so SNEAKY. |
At least the ebay scams are a bit better done than the Nigerian diplomat ones....

We had one of those stores move into my town.I never went in there but they went out of business in about 2 months.

That's what I was wondering, what kind of buisness venture this might be. I wanted some input from people that have used these stores, before I wasted any time actually researching for myself:D |
NOVA - we had the same thing in my area - about four popped up of the same company "Mr. Lister" they advertised on TV and radio and newspaper all the time and then suddenly went bust and locked their doors. . . it took several weeks and the involvement of the police for some people to get their stuff back from the locked stores - a real mess.
as for the scams, i'm always getting e-mails from "paypal" about my account security and the need to update etc. . . but i have NEVER used paypal in my life. . . so more phishing! that said, i do have a lovely relationship with a diplomat's wife from kenya who promises to cut me in on their huge oil fortune once i get it out of the bank . . . then i'll open my paypal account |
Good to know Zero,thx.
Well,I guess I can always open up another dollar store or chinese resturant (or cell phone store)........I mean,it's not like we have a bizillion of Those around...heehee. *and I swear each and every one of them does BANG-UP buisness-it's insane. There are 5 cell phone stores,4 chinese resturants and NINE dollar stores on one freakin road here. I'd be in heaven if they opened an Olive Garden here,I would EVEN stop bitchin about what a bumfuckin redneck hell I live in for an Olive Garden!!:D |
