al Zarqawi Thread
To the moderators:-
Why was the thread on Abu Musab al Zarqawi closed today? Have you deleted a post that might explain it? There does not seem to be any reason for closing a thread on such a serious and important political matter, yet allowing petty and trite threads to remain. |
Maybe because it was the perfect opportunity for spammers to strike? If I were you, I would have PM'ed a mod instead of making a pointless thread on it. Just a thought! =)

This place seems fairly nice. But, it does sound weird to say that there's harmony on a horror site. Shouldn't we all be bitching and cutting off newbies? Oops.

You might be what you eat, but you aren't what you watch.
If you are, you want locking up. :p |
Could have been a few things:
Me saying something that would cause shit, and it could be the picture of the guy dead. |

If you have seen the 'beheading' video, you will agree it focuses a lot of vengeful rage against this man. Manipulated or not, Berg still appeared on it and was still killed - al Zarqawi was reportedly responsible. |

And...Of course...It could be something else entirely... Quote:
But...I don't really have a right to speculate on the motivation behind it...Because I have been absent for a while... :o |
My very first thread got closed!
Sorry for the controversy, folks. I was posting late last night, right after the announcement on the CBS news, and didn't expect the debate about the beheading's legitimacy. Please forgive this liberal his moment of misplaced vindication. :o |

Since you brought it up, the Pearl and other murders also show signs of manipulation. This leads to the logical conclusion that none of these death films are authentic. Not one of them is a straightforward single take, and the argument that each video has a legitimate reason to be broken up at a significant point but is still genuine does not stand up. In the case of the Berg footage, there is a leap forward of several hours in the video clock from 'attack' to 'decapitation', a deliberately awkward zoom/refocus allowing the disguised editing of the material (i.e. body swapping and/or special effects) and of course the medical logic that a living head could not be swiftly sawn off with such a small knife and produce so little blood. Interestingly, some who shout that the victims should be 'left to rest in peace' and try to shame anyone for investigating the videos for themselves remain convinced the footage is all genuine - that it just has to be, that the blatantly obvious tampering is not relevant and can be explained away... as if the horror of imagining what might have happened to these people means there can be no question of complicating things any further, even faced with intriguing unanswered questions. So far as the closing of the other thread goes, it seems very strange to do this because something offensive might be posted (I wouldn't condone a link to any of the videos on this site- do your homework if you want to see), and that the subject has brought out the worst in certain members in the past. |

As for the authenticity of the beheading videos...I now have personal insight that PROVES there would be a shitload of blood, if they had been real... During my recent C-Section they nicked an artery...Blood literally squirted like from a hose, 13 feet across the room...one nurse got hit...It was awesome!......The doctor said, "Whoa, that's a good one" and you should have seen Dustin's face....He said that was the coolest thing he's ever seen...Next to them pulling out the baby, of course :)...They stopped it in seconds, so we weren't worried about it... Oh...I hope I didn't gross you out :p Anyway....It really is amazing the force that was behind it...And now I also know that the horror movies just don't ever get it right when limbs are chopped off, or when people get decapitated...Nope...They don't even come CLOSE... |

[B]No it isn't - it's the Nick Berg footage I am talking about. In the case of the Berg footage, there is a leap forward of several hours in the video clock from 'attack' to 'decapitation', a deliberately awkward zoom/refocus allowing the disguised editing of the material (i.e. body swapping and/or special effects) and of course the medical logic that a living head could not be swiftly sawn off with such a small knife and produce so little blood. . What are you talking about ? There is alot of blood in the Nick Berg video. It flows across the floor as Zarqawi saws through his neck. You can hear Nick grunting. After removing the head Zarqawi holds the head up in front of the camera. Then the scene cuts to the head sitting on his body with the knife next to it. As far as the knife being small so what, the blade was sharp. You dont need a large knife. I take it you've never been hunting and dismembered a deer. What other manipulated videos have you seen pressure and what is your point? Are you trying to say that Zarqawi and his men were not as ruthless and savage as they seem to be? You really think they removed the heads after they killed their victims for what reason? Because they have a heart? What's your point Pressure ? For you to state that none of these videos are authentic is just not true. Especially when beheading is the accepted form of execution in the Muslim world. |
The point is the videos are not the authentic acts of decapitation they are widely perceived to be. If this is put to you, you can either agree, say 'so what?' or offer your own explaination of why the films have been cut.
Nick Berg, Daniel Pearl, Eugene Armstrong and Jack Hensley are enough examples. They are all justifiably open to speculation since each of these films has been edited to allow plenty of opportunity to apply deception. The militants learned enough from the Berg production to make sure their on-screen clock was turned off in future, but that did not deter their manipulation of sound (that any screams and protests heard must irrefutably be coming from the victims is hardly the case) nor persistence of jarring zooms and refocus utilised in every single one of these films between the points of attack and decapitation. There is no logical reason for a filmmaker to want to stop the action and make a cut at the most significant moment of the entire event other than for fabrication purposes. There are live hostages in the scenes, there are dead bodies and there are severed heads. Because you may have sawn off a deer's head with a hunting knife does not override the factors I have laid out above. The abductors and killers want to appear as ruthless and efficient as they possibly can - that is their motive, that is their propoganda. |
Fine, we are all entitled to our own opinions besides "staged" videos don't change the fact that they are ruthless killers. It's obvious they will stop at nothing to achieve their goal, even if it means killing fellow muslims and innocent civilians.
One last thing, I also read an article about the beheadings being staged according to some supposed experts. They also stated that Zarqawi was probably not responsible because he had been killed in a airstrike that previous April. |
Sorry double post.
