I'd just rather put up with the annoying "youngsters" that don't understand that we don't really mind when they leave and come back rather than us sit here and not post.:)

The thing about this is that you're being very hypocritical. I'm not defending the goodbye/hello threads, because, frankly, they are exactly what you say: attention whore threads. However, there was no need for yet another thread/post on the subject. This thread is not the first. So you were looking for attention, making you one of them.

Yes, but the more we post about people making posts (as I'm doing now) perpetuates the cycle as well. We have to break the cycle or it will drive us to insanity. The more people post about not posting the more I will post about not posting about not posting.

It has become a cycle here as of late. I think the best thing to do at this point is ignore all posts that have anything to do with goodbyes or hellos (unless it's the new member's forum) even if it's someone being sarcastic. If you should find yourself in a thread like that, cleverly hidden, just leave without posting.

In Creeper's defence, he's a member of long standing, but he hasn't been here for a long time. So, I doubt he realizes how prevelant these threads have been lately. So, don't crash on him for his own version of sarcasm, because I doubt he knew how many threads like this were springing up considering the vast number that have already been buried, but, we know. Members who've been on hiatus for whatever reason, may not, and they shouldn't have to wade through dead threads to find out either.

How many more of these threads do we need?

We get it, you don't like the hello/goodbye threads. Just agree with the folks who already made threads about it and quit clogging things up even further.
