Questionnaire On Japanese Horror Films And Their Western Remakes

Hello people, I am doing a research project concerning Asian horror films and would appreciate it if you could spare a minute or so to answer these questions.

Your Sex

Your Age

Concerning The Ring francise which of the following films do you prefer...the Japanese original Ringu or the Hollywood remake The Ring?

Why?

Which version frightened you the most?

Why?

Of the Japanese original of Dark Water and it's remake which do you prefer?

Why?

Which version frightened you the most?

Why?

What does the current influx of asian horror remakes made by Hollywood say to you?

Thank you very much for your time and answers.

Oh, a marketing person! I'll answer your questions very succinctly: the Japanese versions are superior in every aspect, and the current influx of remakes in Hollywood says nothing to me aside from proving its own dearth of ideas.

Like Chan-wook Park said: "The only problem I have is with remakes. People need to make a movie different when they remake it-if they just change the language of the characters or the country, that's just pathetic."

If not better. One of the coolest horror movies I've seen in a long time. I was kinda put off by Buffy being in it, but I soon got over that. The director got to improve on a few things he did in the original. Didn't really get into the sequel and I think I'm over the whole Japense ghost story deal nowdays. I watched Dark Water last night and thought it was pretty weak.
