Horror comic strip poking fun at the genre

Hello all!

I stop by from time to time to share some horror comic strips poking fun at the genre we all love. Recently it's been Silent Hill, prospects for Halloween 9, and the Friday the 13th remake. Enjoy!

Granted I'm a pretty bad counter, but it only looks to me like you've posted here once: now.

Posher778 05-08-2006 02:19 PM

hoorayyyy.... who r you...

Sulla 05-08-2006 02:21 PM

No problem alky, I haven't previously shared my strips in the form of a post. Horror.com was good enough to run an article on me some while back, featuring the strip and some other art. I have a lot more strips now and like to get out and share them with fans, nothing more, nothing less. But I hope you enjoy!

Posher778 05-08-2006 02:22 PM

Are we your fans?

Sulla 05-08-2006 02:25 PM

Posher

I wouldn't presume to say what you like or don't like. I draw the strips for horror fans and share them across the Net with horror fans. I've certainly run into folks who like them. :)

Ah, I see.

Carry on, then!

You know, I think we jump on "spammers" to quick around here. Sure, most the the time they're annoying pricks, but every now and then someone comes along offering something fairly interesting. Yet we still attack them on sight. Did you guys even read his/her comics? I went to the site and read the whole collection, and I really enjoyed them. You guys should look before you flame.

Good work Sulla, keep it up!

SKOOFx 05-09-2006 11:47 AM

Sulla is an alright guy.
I used to chat with him on HorrorMovies.com

That site is dead, so i moved here.

(although to give that site credit, the majority of their posts are actualyl serious conversations regarding the genre, here we shoot the shit alot more :) )

I'll tell ya what I find interesting about Sulla's comix...

the main theme seems to be how much modern horror SUCKS.

and it's nice to see someone proclaiming this! most of the target audience just seems to accept all this crap.

The STE 05-09-2006 12:59 PM

yes, because nobody around here seems to want to say that modern horror sucks

Sulla 05-09-2006 01:26 PM

And my apologies if I came across as a spammer, that was not my intent. I like getting reactions to the strips, and what fans like and don't like about them, etc. I am NOT trying to sell anything or divert traffic.

I basically have 5 message boards that I lurk in for comic inspiration. I registered and have been reading posts here for about 2 years now.

Many of the strips do berate the genre we all love. May have to throw in a positive strip or two. A lot of the humor on these boards and elsewhere comes out of dashed expectations.

glad some folks enjoyed the strips, motivates me to draw/write more.

Although not really that funny, they make good points... except for that Silent Hill one, boo to that.

Your comics remind me of Penny Arcade... not an insult, so don't freak out and stab yourself all crazy-style.

Agreed, there's a bunch of those... the one for Sleepless in Seattle is good too.

Sulla 05-11-2006 02:02 PM

I don't mind being compared to Penny Arcade, and yes, the Shining parody is hilarious, amazing what you can do with a different soundtrack.

Nice comics Sulla....thanks for sharing.

Posher778 05-11-2006 04:36 PM

A few of them were alright I guess, got a little blah after a while, but, there's worse, a LOT worse.

My fav is the tv one..

Not gory enough, not gory enough "blood spray" perfect!

Thanks for the comments Posher, and Newb, did you get a comic done? If so you have to post.

:D

Yellow Jacket 05-15-2006 05:25 PM

Keep the comics coming Sulla. And don't mind posting from time to time.

The Mothman 05-15-2006 06:08 PM

ya that was pretty funny. they should have tried to put some violent scenes in there towards the end thoug, just to spice it up a bit.
