The Vern is in the house!
 

Most people call me The Vern (or Vern for short). I started writing horror stories, poetry etc when I was around 9. Having recently turned 29, my outlook on life and the horror scene in general has changed.

I now run an online community for alternate, dark writers and artists at www.purpleverse.com and also edit the magazine Sinfully Twisted (www.sinfully-twisted.com).

I guess I'm here to network, get to know some new people outside of my own community. The greatest thing in the world is the written word, especially when it's your own that inspires others.

At the risk of being beaten to death for mentioning this, I'm uploading new updates of my horror fiction and some writting colleagues to my website within the next few days.

:p Ok, tonight I am happy.

For a hack that writes very off the wall horror fiction, I'm bloody overjoyed to report I've now sold 500!!! copies of my book "The Enlightened Darkness".

Self published and self promoted, it's received it's fair share of damning and sickening reports BUT for most, they've enjoyed it. Above all, it proves that self publishing CAN work.

I'm in it for the pleasure and not for the money. All that counts for me is a good few hundred people now own a piece of my ass!

Thanks! The artwork for issue one was created by Grant Fuhst. I comissioned Grant to create the exclusive art for us but using my face on the main figure. It was a fantastic project and we were very happy.

Issue one has great content but turned out basic due to budget restrictions. Issue Two however was another story. Decent budget and great content.

Issue Three is now under development.
