Well, I suppose it was alright. I was disappointed by the storyline, but the monsters were much better than I anticipated. The pyramid head guys looked really awesome, I just wish I could have seen a little more of them then the three times that they appeared. The end was sort of odd, but I won't state too much about it for those who have yet to see this movie. I doubt I'll buy it when it comes out because the only reason I'd watch it would be too see all the monsters again. Any other thoughts from those who have seen it?

You could still talk about this on the other thread. I guess it is ok to mnake a new thread since it is no longer upcoming, but still... just me ranting. I'm dying to see this, and even dante'sinferno's overexcitement about it didn't throw me off from it, hahaha:D

I thought that it was a great film. I hated the ending, I don't like clif hanger endings like that, if you want to do a sequale end the movie in a way that brings closure to the story at the moment but leave elements unexplained. I felt like they ended the movie right in the middle of the story.
But overall a good movie.

Thought it was a great time. I wanted it to be a little scary, but I guess surving the games made that too much to ask. Two things bothered me.

1. I like Cybil Bennet. Hated to see her die.
2. I wanted more Pyramid Head action. Loved the way he killed that chick. Could have seen more, though. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, but wasn't it rumored that Pyramid Head was a "she?" It seems that after SH2 came out there was a rumor floating around about that.

Okay, fill me in... Was the cult thingie a part of SH3? Haven't been able to play it. Sorry that I'm really really sentimental, but SH was mine and my ex beau, Luke's game, and I was like, crazy insane in love with him. So after I got over him, I just never got around to it. Anyway...the cult? Also, was there any closure in SH3? Go ahead and tell me? I have too many med bills to pay off to even begin buying video games.

Okay... yes, the cult plays a huge part in SH3, but I can't seem to remember the ending for some reason... it's been about 2 years since I've played it. As for PH being female... well, judging from what it was doing to those mannequin demons in the apartment in SH2, I kinda doubt it. Unless it's a futanari... I tried to post this picture I have of Pyramid Head as a girl, but the file is too big and I'm far too lazy to shrink it and whatnot.

Just came back from SIlent Hill. The movie was a lot of fun. Sort of dissapointing considering the directors previous movie (Brotherhood of the Wolf). The atmosphere seemed to be missing something.

Pyramid Head was more impressive then even I would have thought. See it in the theatres, you wont be dissapointed. Good movie, great gore and a piss off of an ending. Fans of the game will enjoy it more.

I loved it, even though it was a bit lengthy. Favorite part was the guy comin' out of the bathroom stall... Ooooooooh.

Meh, no prob...Ill probably forget by the time I get around to seeing the movie anyway:p

There's two endings


-Good ending: You kill god, and scapes from the church and meet with Douglas at the amusement park.

-The bad ending: only when you killed at less 300 enemies (less or more, I don't remember exactly) and if you didn't forgives Claudia "crimes" at the church. again you killed God but when you meets again with Douglas you kill him

-Theres a UFO ending (like on the first part): Use the special dress (princess heart) and kill all monsters only with Heather's bean. When you arives to Heather's apartment the game ends (You could get this ending only if you had finished the game at less one time getting the dress and Heather's bean)

And two more things, the cult has an special play on SH 4 (Or better said, Dalia Gallespy), and please STOP TALKING ABOUT THE FUCKING FILM (There's two more months, or three until it arrives to Spain)

I just saw it last night, and I have mixed feelings. As far as the atmosphere and visuals go, they got it dead on. The scene where Rose first comes to Silent Hill is exactly like the very beginning of the first game. They even used some of the same camera angles, which was very cool. The story though... they changed a few things which didn't really make sense to me. All in all though, I'd say that Silent Hill is probably the best video game adaptation I've seen. I know that's not really saying very much, but it is a decent film. My girlfriend loved it and she hasn't played any of the games, so I'd say that you'll probably get more out of it if you haven't played them either. I still think that the plot of SH2 would have made a better movie, so here's hoping that they make a sequel based on that game.

Well, first let me say I've never played the game, so I had no knowledge of the story.
The movie itself...well I've seen worse. Good acting and nice atmosphere but no real scares and the ending was a little vague. Overall, just a so-so movie.

Okay, Cibel being burned alive in a profile shot by crazy hoes and bitches in a cult... terrible experiance to sit through. I don't know why, but that was a kick ass character and I was pained to see her beaten and then torched. Same w/ the little girl.

It sort of became a cyber-punkish thing at the end though, that table and all those wires etc.. I wasn't even a giant fan of the game, (more of a resident evil kid) but man, this was pretty friggin good. I just got back from seeing it so i'm like "wowomgwowz0rz!11!1" probably sounding like a moron.

It was good though. See it.

Jeez I come back on the board and theres like 3 people i rememeber from back when. Anyways I really liked this movie. 4/5. They could have changed some things here and there but for the most part I was very satisfied. The best Horror movie to come out this year....i think....i forget what came out. But as a HUGE fan of the series I liked it alot. Deffinitly picking this up on DVD.

this was so rediculously awful. I dont see how anyone could enjoy it at all. it was laughable throughout the entire film. not the least bit scary either. the nurses looked like they were breakdancing.

The scene with the nurses was hysterical. It reminded me of the old Micheal Jackson "Thriller" video

horrible. everyone in the theater was laughing throughout the whole thing, and all my freinds felt it was a waste of money and an awful film.

Good, not great. Seeing Pyramid Head on the big screen was a lot of fun for me. It had it's flaws but there is fun to be had.

Sorry about the vomiting and hope it didn't splatter on anyone, but truly, SILENT HILL made my top 20 list of worst horror movies I have ever seen. In the showing I went to, all of the audience members were also laughing. My husband, also an avid horror fan, termed the movie "an utter embarrassment to the horror genre." I will be writing a review soon, and when I do, I will post the link here.

My recommendation...avoid this one like the plague.

I read in an interview that the nurses were actually played by "exotic dancers". How great is that....

HA-ha! We laughed our butts off at that whole scene. It looked so mechanical and cheesy, like something out of a really broke horror movie...oh, wait, it WAS something out of a really broke horror movie!

Fret not, Urgeok! Save yourself some money and see it at your local dollar theater or rent it when it comes to DVD. Trust me, it ain't all that and it ain't worth it, unless you are just wowed by special effects without a sensible plot.

actually a friend of mine (who writes reviews for Rue Morgue magazine) reviewed it and loved it ..

i respect the guys opinion because with one exception (he loves The Beyond - i hate it) we usually have the exact same taste in film ..

he said it was old school .. very atmospheric, brutal (in a good way) and creepy.

i've actually given it a lot of thought and i realize - had i seen The Beyond 20 years ago - i probably would have liked it ..

but 20 years ago it was phantasm turning my crank.

Actually, I have, and that's the one aspect that I disagreed with the reviewer on...I thought the game sucked as much as the movie. One of the few positive things I can say about the movie, like the reviewer said, is that it does look like the game. But again, I thought the game sucked, too. Also, I agree with your friend in that the movie does have a cool atmosphere, but for me, all the atmosphere and gore in the world don't matter if the plot makes no sense, and it didn't to me.

I do understand your desire of wanting to check it out anyway, but simply am trying to give you a little comfort about having to wait a bit if you can't fit it into your schedule, as you said. Please let me know what you think of it when you see it, and if your opinion differs this time from that of your friend's.
