They Live
They just showed this on AMC 'fear Fridays' (a new horror schedule) it was pretty cool. I liked how the Aliens used Capitolism and Politics to subliminally control the humans. That one and 'Hell Comes to Frogtown' (yikes! so silly! He plays one of the last fertile men on Earth captired by Women) are classic Roddy Piper.

THEY LIVE
One of my favorites. I *never* get tired of watching this movie . . . .

THE BEST fight scene in a movie EVER. It's such a damn brawl. Did you guys see the South Park episode Cripple Fight? It's the same fight blow for blow. I love They Live (plus it's got Buck Flower)
Love Hell Comes to Frogtown too. It just has the best storyline ever. They are definitely Piper's best films. "This is your god." |

This episode also reminds me of 'Children of the Korn'. Two people who are passing on the highway, have car trouble, and thus they go to (the adult-abandoned) south park. At one point Cartman has the woman and yells out 'outlander, outlander, we have your woman, she's still alive'. Just like in the movie 'Children of the Korn'. Plus some of the kids (Butters) try to sacrifice themselves, also like in the movie. |
The episode I'm talking about has a guy saying "You don't wanna go down that road. That road leads to the indian burial ground." It was something like that. Anyway, he says it just like Herman Munster in Pet Sematary. I can't remember anything else about the episode.

It was a Halloween episode and I think that it might be the episode you're thinking about. |

the only thing I like about the movie is the fight scene.... just not my type of movie...

If you liked They Live, be sure to check out Big Trouble In Little China, another great Carpenter movie. It's less horror, more action-comedy, but still a great movie. One of the first DVDs I got when I got my DVD player, was a definate priority adding that one to my collection.
Also, if you want straight horror, watch Prince Of Darkness. |
