What is everyone's favorite oldie?

Mine would be that one song, that i have no idea what it's called: Somewhere, beyond the sea, somewhere, waiting for me... My lover stands on golden sands, and watches the ships that come sail, inn....

Lots of doo-wop and soul sounds good to my ears as well. Not too many specific songs I can think of though.

I love that tune!

Without a doubt my favorite oldie is Wooly Bully by Sam The Sham and The Phaorohs.

I agree about blue moon being a great tune.

to me they are contemporaries..

(i'm taking 'oldies' to be songs that were around long before you were born)

Lets see...Im a big Sinatra fan, so I'll have to go with "As Time Goes By", "Strangers in the Night", "Something Stupid", and the Rat Pack version of "Mack the Knife".

I seem to have forgotten about "This Magic Moment." I'm particularly partial to Lou Reed's version, but I don't think that really counts as an oldie.

It's nice to see there's a few Bobby Darin fans here other than myself,I always liked his stuff especially "Artificial Flowers" it's such a depressing song and carries it off with glee.

I don't consider them "oldies"

Then how does one distinguish "oldies" from "newies".

I hear "Sweet Home Alabama" on the oldies station over here all the time.

Skynyrd isn't really an oldie... for sure. Although they aren't too bad either way.
