You must rent The Crazies and Two Evil Eyes right away. The Crazies is still one of his best but as far as Two Evil Eyes go...it's all about Argento on that one. Awesome story.

Twilight_Zone 04-02-2006 12:44 PM

I really like George Romero and am looking to watch all his movies.
So far my list is

Dawn Of The Dead
Day Of The Dead
Land Of The Dead
Night Of The Living Dead
Creepshow
Monkey Shines
The Crazies

looked for Martin at Blockbuster but they didnt have it.:mad:I've heard only good things about it.

Posher778 04-02-2006 01:10 PM

Soooo...... Martin IS horror... Isn't it a comedy horror?

PR3SSUR3 04-02-2006 01:49 PM

Had to abort an attempted viewing of Martin some years ago, because it seemed shit - I'm sure I was wrong, so will have to give it another go.

Bruiser was a plain misfire - very odd.

Posher778 04-02-2006 02:30 PM

Sorry, I was thinking of Willard, not martin, my mistake.

The_Return 04-02-2006 02:53 PM

Ive hardly seen any...out of what Ive seen Night is easily the best.

Posher778 04-02-2006 02:55 PM

I hated the end of the original Night otld

All that work for nothing...

What was there not to like? Downbeat and powerful, one of my all-time favourite endings.

Posher778 04-02-2006 03:07 PM

Welll it was better than pet sematary's at least, and Mortuary

The_Return 04-02-2006 03:12 PM

Havent seen either, but the book version of Pet Semetary had a pretty good ending as I recall. Cant remember exactly how it ended, but it left a good impression on me if nothing else.

I love the ending too. I think most people do.

Zero 04-28-2006 07:43 AM

I watched "there's always vanilla" last night - got it on a double-sided DVD with "Season of the Witch" aka "Jack's Wife". I thought it wasn't half bad - no horror, sort of hippie nonsense, but for a piece from the early 70s, it wasn't a badly made film. (Indeed, in my opinion as a piece of filmmaking, its better than the Crazies - though I enjoyed the Crazies more).

RavageRitual 04-28-2006 10:17 AM

My List....

Dawn of the Dead
Night of the Living Dead
The Crazies
Day of the Dead
The Dark Half
Creepshow
Land of the Dead
Martin
Two Evil Eyes
Bruiser
Monkey Shines
Knightrider's
Season of the Witch

urgeok 04-28-2006 01:47 PM

GREENBILL 05-02-2006 11:22 AM

All films mentioned except martin? its not about some young guy with telekinetic powers is it?
Day of the dead and the crazies r the better ones for me. crazies reminds me of SK The Stand and 28 days later......in a similar vein.....

Martin is about a guy who may or may not be a vampire. The film also works as a statement on drug addiction. In my opinion, it is the best of Romero's films.

The telekinetic powers movie sounds like "Psychic Killer"--1975

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0073586/

here is a fan site for "Martin"

GREENBILL 05-02-2006 03:56 PM

hmmmm.....sounds like a challenge..

Tourist Trap?

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080040/

GREENBILL 05-02-2006 04:25 PM

never heard ov it, no.

the guys got like really blonde hair in a 80's boff fashion if ya know what i mean. in the hospital, he makes his 'drips' fall over with his 'powers'. part from that and what ive already said, i cant remember much more. im sure ive got it, but i copied it and it'd take me ages searchin' through my older tapes. they'll be collecting dust somewhere dark and forbidding..
