Picture Problem
OK, Ive had this problem for quite some time now, and its just now starting to really piss me off.
I'd really like to post pictures on horror.com but everytime I do it ends up looking like the link below. And having to click on a link is really annoying. Especially if Im doing a tournament or something. Anyway.... The Problem. Every time I find a picture I want on the internet, I right click the picture then go to "Save Picture As..." That will same the picture under the "My Pictures" folder of my computer. Then, whenever I want to use the picture in the post I go down to attach file, I then hit "Browse". The "Browse" button opens up the "My Pictures" folder. I click on the picture I want and it automatically fills the Attach File space. But then once I post the picture goes down as a link. So the member has to click on it just to see the picture. I want it so the picture automatically shows up on the post. I will appreciate all the help I can get with this...Because Ive had an awesome Idea for a kick ass tourney that I think everyone will enjoy. But I cant do it unless I know its gonna be awesome. Im computer stupid. So please be clear with your replys. BTW, I posted a picture in this thread below so you can see what it looks like whenever I try to post a picture. |
Despare
mothermold ste return trippin... I thought at least one of you would know how to fix this... |
All I do is copy the link from the image I want and then in the reply area press the IMG button and paste all the info into that.
http://www.emuasylum.com/images/logo.jpg Below is the code I used but you'll notice that the brackets are reversed so the word IMG is encased by ][ instead of [] like it should be. Not really sure if I'm explaining it well enough but I hop this helps some. ]IMG[http://www.emuasylum.com/images/logo.jpg]/IMG[" |
trying...
]IMG[http://www.emuasylum.com/images/logo.jpg]/IMG[ |
]IMG[http://www.emuasylum.com/images/logo.jpg]/IMG["
lol, doesnt look like this is working for me..... |
So close...
Instead of ]IMG[http://www.emuasylum.com/images/logo.jpg]/IMG[ turn the brackets so IMG is inside [ ] instead of ] [ [LMG]http://www.emuasylum.com/images/logo.jpg[/LMG] do it just like that but instead of LMG use IMG http://www.emuasylum.com/images/logo.jpg |

Is your vB code enabled in your user preferences?
|
Worked that second time!
|
Ok, I have that. now my only problem is...how do i get the exact web address of a picture. Usually web addresses just have an entire page and not just a certain picture.
Does that only work on pictures that I can click on that come up on thier own page? Thanks alot for all your help Despare. |

If you right click on a picture and go to properties you should see the address. Like if I do it on the HDC logo it says http://www.horror.com/images/v2_images/horror_logo.jpg
then you can highlight, copy, and paste. |

Perfect

But some sites won't let you link their pictures you have to download them and upload them to another site. Isn't this a pain in the ass? heh
|
|
I get a red x until I visit the actual site. I think that site doesn't like linking. Try something from photobucket or some site like that.
|
Yes, deffinatly a pain in the ass. Fortunatly its becoming much easier to understand.

That one was flawless, seems like it's all working now.
And when I saw flawless I'm talking about the posting of the picture not the picture itself. |
Ok, thanks alot Despare

Okay...I just read the rest of the thread...And, it IS working but you're hotlinking and like Despare said...Many people do NOT appreciate it when people hotlink from their sites, and many images won't show up...If you get a photobucket account at photobucket.com , you can put ANY image there, and use the URL that is provided by them...Then you have no hotlinking issues, and ALL of your pictures will show up
|
Thanks alot Rayne. I will look at photobucket. Thanks for your help!:D
