Friday the 13th V: New Begining
 

Anyone else think this is a HIGHLY UNDERRATED FILM??

I feel that it is underrated, so what.... Jason wasn't the killer, He wasn't the killer in the first one either.
I think that there were definitely worse installments in the Friday the 13th franchise.
Like the one where the girl had telekinetic powers, I thought that one sucked.:D

i thought part 54 is the funniest one out of any of them.
I can quote the whole thing.

Everyone i talk to seem to HATE this movie.

I personally think it was pulled off very nicely. Great kills, great quotes..great characters.


Also, the first person slasher was the theme of the first one (you never saw the killer), this one was very much like the first .

I think it should get more credit.

I mean, seriously...part 6 is by FAR the worst.

...this is one of the worst of the serie...only number 3 and 8 are worse...

Friday the 13th is one of my favourite films. I love 1-4 but i think it started going down hill after that. Then again 8(Jason takes Manhattan) wasnt that bad. He wasnt even really in 9 (Jason goes to Hell), Jason X was just a piss take and Freddy & Jason was a joke. But i have all and 8 and i still watch them.

First one was really good, couple others are ok, a few suck and Jason X is one of those so bad it's fun to watch and have a laugh movies.

I completely agree. I have never been a Friday the 13th fan. I found the first one annoying. I did enjoy part VII, but I can't really explain why. I think it is because of one outstanding death scene. Part V did have a good shock moment early in the film though, and it is not nearly as bad as a couple of the others. At least it tried something a little different.
I personally think that II is the best of the series overall, however.

Yes, even though I am not a fan, I have seen them all at least once......I will watch anything horror apparently. :p

I too feel part 5 is underrated. It may not be the greatest, and it may not have Jason as the killer (but neither did the original), but it was still good entertainment. The only one in this series that I hated is Jason Goes to Hell. The rest are so-so (except for part 6, which was the shit!).

It seems so cheesy..and just goofy.

Like when jason smashes the guys head into the tree..and then we see a smiley face imprint in the bark..

i don't hate the movie, i just hate the series, at least from what i've seen. the original was boring until the last 5 minutes, the 3rd was just corny as hell, (too corny) MEANING. that biker chick swinging from the barn like a 6 year old, and that dumb bitch talking to jason when he had the speargun saying, hey! thats mean, why would you aim that at me, thats so rude! who are you? nag nag bitch blah *pow*.

i thought 5 was... like, barely ok. to me they are all the same, in every way. even the kills which are said to be unique start repeating them selves. like heads being crushed and double impalements are getting old. but, if they want to completely flood a series with repetitive sequels, fine by me. maybe its just because all i see jason (or the "killer" from the movies, is just as a freakin retard, with the way he runs and looks).

I'll admit that the smiley face imprint on the bark was jsut stupid, but I loved it because it was cheesy and fun! Isn't that why we eatch the Friday the 13th's? Most of them are goofy in there own way (original excluded). I also loved how throughout the film, Jason never cleaned his machete. He walked around with the blood on there the whole time. I'm pretty sure this hasn't happened in any of the other Friday the 13th's. I loved part 6 because it was fun, cheesy, and gore-filled! A great watch!

all of them are special in there own way. I thought part ALL is the best. not overratted or underrated. just a classic movie that will be with us for generations and gererations. our great grand kids will love them.

I hated part 3. My favorites are the original, Part 2, The Final Chapter and Part 7.

Friday the 13th part 2 was the only one to have genuinely creepy moments, but that could just be me being able to absolutely see some mongoloid hillbilly living in a tin shack in the woods killing kids and jerking off to his mother's severed head....brilliant.

The rest are great if taken for what they are meant to be.

I thought the mortar rounds were highly effective. ;)

Did I SEE the right one? I rented part 5. But I swear Jason was the killer, but maybe not...? They didn't show J till the last 15 or so minutes anyway, and P.5 had the mom and son hicks that were really annoying right? Or did i get the right box but wrong disc...?

I have to agree whole heartedly. This series is quite overrated. The first really wasn't even so much of a horror film as it was a mystery movie. You can't really fault the series for being what it is, but the hype behind it is way too much considering films like Halloween outshine the first one of the Friday The 13th Series.

Not a bad series, but not the best either. It's a happy medium.

yea, like ralph said its the right disc. the guy doing the killings is the son of the fat kid killed in the beginning. he basically stole jason's identity to get away w/ it.

as far as the series go i enjoy it. 1 is a classic, but not better than halloween, 2 i thought was shitty (boring), 3 gave the series a jump start, 4 was clever and had good fx, 5 i thought was so so (the killings were good, but the rest bored me), 6 was like 3 in that it gave the series another kick in the ass (the 1st one to actually make fun of itself) and you gotta love the killings/gore in this one, 7 had a big budget (for 1988) feel to it and once again had good fx, but we were cheated by paramount in that they cut a lot of the gore out, 8 was disposable like 2, 9 i piss on, 10 (jason x) was good campy fun, 11 (i can't believe there's 11 of these fucking films!) had its moments, but is definately more a nightmare on elm st. flick (which i was never crazy for, but respect). *pant* *pant* :o

This was the biggest piece of poop in the series. I wouldn't love this movie if it painted my house, bought me dinner, fondled my buttocks, and told me that I was the best sex it ever had.

I think the Friday the 13th movies are not for every one..either you hate them and think they're the most horrible movies made,or you love them and theyre some of your OWN PERSONAL favorite movies.. a lot of movies are that way,but also some of us are neutral when it comes to them..I like them ,like watching them now and then and have nothing really bad to say about them ,but there are many movies in the slasher, as well as other generes that are just better overall. My own personal favorites are pt 6 Jason Lives and pt 9 Jason goes to Hell ,to me the most entertaining of the series.

I said it once and i'll say it again.

Its 10x campier than 5, and just plain bad and boring.
