It depends on if we're talking about outrageous splatter - which is usually amaturish or hard to take seriously (Braindead, Olaf Ittenbach etc) - or the kind of realistic, nasty gore that makes you wince (The Flower, The Flesh & The Blood, Casino).

Also, CGI gore shouldn't qualify - since it is merely manipulation of light and creates cartoon-like scenes.

alkytrio666 12-27-2005 08:18 AM

Goriest I've seen is either Dead Alive (or Brain Dead for you other countries, but the version I saw was Dead Alive) or Bad Taste.

But I wouldn't consider myself a "gorehound".

IDrinkYourBlood 12-27-2005 10:07 AM

theres never a "gorest" movie. doesnt excist.

RavageRitual 12-27-2005 10:42 AM

Guinea Pig Films are pretty gorey, thenk thiers Man Behind The Sun, Traces and Faces Of Death films, Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, Zombie Holocaust, Jungle Holocaust, Eaten Alive... all decently gorey,

crazy raplh 12-27-2005 06:36 PM

this s one of my favorite threads on the last week or so I would say, bad taste, friday the 13 th part 7, dead alive, ummm saw maybe.

Posher778 12-27-2005 06:42 PM

i can garantee you that no friday the 13th is anywhere nearly as gross and gory as cannibal holocaust. saw was kinda, but... i dont think youno much about this topic if you think that imo.

I bet he knows a lil more about the topic than you do....

zomb5150 12-28-2005 06:59 AM

"Dead Alive" or "Brain Dead" is the goriest horror film I've seen so far.:)

crazy raplh 12-28-2005 07:48 AM

especially the later, more castrated F13 movies.

any-dang-who, the first one that pops into my head is Suicide Circle. Not as filled-with-gore as some other movies, but some of the bits of gore that are in it are massive (subway scene)

Nana_baby 12-28-2005 02:28 PM

well
hellraiser was gorry but in my opion f13th movies are really gorry

Soloman Kane 12-28-2005 02:59 PM

..

Blood Feast comes to mind as well as Blood Feast II :)

Posher778 12-28-2005 04:16 PM

thay're kinda gory but compared to other movies they are nothing.

alkytrio666 12-28-2005 08:13 PM

I really don't see how you guys can say Friday the 13th (any of them) are the "goriest ever". Sure, they're gory for a wide release slasher...but no where near the goriest.

well, one could say that "in my opinion, Donnie Darko had a lot of swearing in it." Doesn't mean it does in comparison to something like, say, Scarface or Clerks or the South Park movie

Real Lars 12-29-2005 02:03 AM

I think its Olaf Ittenbachs Beyond the Limits

great movie:)

hypnocil addict 12-29-2005 03:15 AM

lmao its not a movie but

nip/tuck makes me gag

Amalthea 12-29-2005 06:32 AM

The Tin Drum

acambece 12-30-2005 07:43 AM

American movie i would say Braindead, but for me Ichi the killer was pretty gory

Cambece

The_Return 12-30-2005 07:57 AM

Not the "goriest" by a long shot, but Evil Dead 2 could easily be the bloodiest, just from that awesome gyser (sp?) of blood;)

"hellraiser was gorry but in my opion f13th movies are really gorry"
... You DESERVE a gory death.

"nip/tuck makes me gag"
Heh, so do those surgury shows on Life ^^" Nip/Tuck not so much so though.

"American movie i would say Braindead,"
Hm, yeah but the gore didn't really do it for me. The blood looked like coloured water.

"cabin fever is up there as well."
Uh, no. The gore that IS in it is very well done, but there's not that much.
-----

Personally, I like Evil Dead 2. AOD didn't even compare, and the original's
gore was a little below par compared to II. I haven't seen hardcore gore movies though,
I would like to... but, hard to find. So really, this isn't my department :x

Posher778 01-01-2006 08:46 PM

sigh. cabin fever.. *dies*

sleepy hollow was nicely done. at least 12 heads chopped off on screen, and a guy sliced in half, and all that hacking at dead people and what n ot. by todays movie standards, not that gory i guess, but, it was so nicely done and stuff. definently up there

I dont agree at all, sorry. :D

pinkfloyd45769 01-01-2006 09:04 PM

Cabin Fever was gross, but not the goriest.I really cannot think of a really gory movie, alot of them make me a little ill. I strongly disagree with Sleepy Hallow being gory, it is waaaayyyy down on the gore list.

gorefreak 01-01-2006 09:17 PM

The Shining comes close with that blood tidal wave. :)

sabersword 01-02-2006 08:02 AM

Goryest.

My vote would be, the burnning moon. Truly a gag fest.

Your right dude, that was a dead alive production film, same production that put up the Traces Of Death Series, "The Burning Moon" is very gory. Very Very Bloody, I loved it.

Although I thought Sleepy Hollow was a great film, it doesnt deserve to be anywhere near a thread called "Goriest Movie Ever". Sure, the beheadings looked pretty cool, but they really werent that gory. And other than those, there wasnt much of anything, was there? Been awhile, but I still know it wasnt very gory.

slasherman 01-02-2006 12:28 PM

..like many others have said "Brain Dead" is pretty gory...but far from the best....
and....and another splatter movie "Re-Animator" (1985)
...and maybe "The Maniac" is worth a mention

Posher778 01-02-2006 04:46 PM

tis' ok ravage....

you havent agreed with me on anything in the 1st place..

but i meant it wasnt that gory, just lots of severed heads.

RavageRitual 01-02-2006 05:32 PM

I know, Im sorry. Im not the only person that doesnt agree w/ you on this subject. If you see Pinkfloyd, and The_Return, also disagree. But now that you say...

I understand now, and Im sure everyone was just disagreeing because you didnt point that out in the first place. I mean you did post this under the goriest movie ever thread. lol.:D

Posher778 01-03-2006 03:56 PM

are severed heads rolling down hills not classified as gore in this world anymore? guess not... but yeah i wasnt very specific
