Man, I hope they dont make a remake that will be dumb as hell.

evildeadfreak 11-23-2005 11:12 AM

Why the first was great now they could just tweke up the special effects

The oringinal would still be the best even if they do make a remake of it. Instead of making all these remakes they need to just come out with new movies instead.

It wasnt really a remake though. Stephen King wanted a version that actually followed the book, so he had a TV movie made, sticking to the book.

I personally have no problems with an Evil Dead remake so long as 3 simple rules are followed:
1: Sam Raimi directs. It's his baby, let him see it grow up.
2: Bruce Campbell is Ash. Give it to anyone else and the film loses any greatness it could have had as well as alienating Evil Dead fans (its biggest market).
3: Keep the story as it was in the 80's. Dont change it for a 21st century audience as the real, true fans will hate you forever.

other than that... Groovy.:D

I hope they don't do this. But shouldn't this be in the Upcoming Horror Movies thread?

This might have been your point...but if they do that, It's no more of a remake than ED2
