Sleepaway Camp (1983)

http://ia.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/78/39/70m.jpg

DVD description:
After a horrible boating accident kills her family, Angela, a shy and sullen young girl, moves in with her eccentric aunt Martha, alongside her protective cousin Ricky. One summer, Martha sends the kids to Camp Arawak. Soon after their arrival, a series of bizarre and increasingly violent accidents begins to claim the lives of various campers. Who is the twisted individual behind these murders? The disclosure of the murderer's identity is the most shocking climax in the history of American cinema

My Thoughts:
Beside the great ending This movie wasnt scary....The acting was bad...I was dissapointed...And whats up with all those cutoff t-shirts...

Violence: 3 out of 5
Actors Quality: 2 out of 5
Gore:1 out of 5
Special Effects: 4 out of 5
Story: 5 out of 5
Love: 0 out of 5

Overall score: 3 out of 5=rental
I dont do from beginning to end reviews of movies...Because if you want to see it I dont want to ruin it for you....This is why I keep my Thoughts short...Plz feel free to comment on any of my reviews!!!

This movie is great! One of the best endings ever! Come on!

p.s. You probably shouldn't spoil the ending in your review by saying the killer isn't an adult. Sayin'.

If you're going to keep doing these "reviews", then please keep em' to your one review thread instead of making a new thread for every movie.

..he is doing both :p

knife_fight 11-05-2005 06:50 PM

next he's going to review the cult favorite "Nightmare on Elm Street"

I mean, is a Sleepaway Camp review really necessary on horror.com's forum?

I kinda wouldn't mind someone more competent starting a similar thread.

Who's to say he's not competent, Captain Noobie?

Hey. HEY! None of that, now.

Personaly I didn't care for this movie. Also I wonder how they got away with killing kids (under 18 yo)? I mean how many movies are there that have a kid die, let alone show them die, and on top of that the deaths are grousome? Second off the pedafiler crap was stupied a gross at the same time.

Bear in mind you're talkin about the early 1980's. Movies had a lot more freedom in what could be shown back then without people raising a major stink over it.

A bunch of kids calling each other "homo"!

No, I'm talkin about Prelude's comment about kids getting killed in horror films. Nowadays, too many people complain about it so much and raise such a big hassle that nobody wants to deal with it.

Good point.

Exactly. Case in point.... look at "Friday The 13th" part 7 with all the "off screen" killings, yet they had all the footage that needed to be chopped out out to "sanitize" it. From what I've heard, they still have all the footage, but won't re-release it on DVD in the "director's cut" version?? If it has all the gore chopped out, then how could it be passed off as the "director's cut" other than some lame ass marketing ploy?

Its simple, the people at Paramount are bastards and don't want to relase all of that good stuff even though the Friday fans have been bitching about it for years. Its kind of like the Friday box set that came out recently, it was made cheaply and some of the pictures of Jason on the disc are from other movies. Like Friday 5 has a picture of Jason from Friday 8 or something like that.
But simply Paramount is a bastard.
