What happen to grandpa?

ok devils rejects great film but what ever became of grandpa. i know the actor who played him in house (dennis fimple) died shortly after the film was finished but there is no mention of him in rejects its like he just disappeared.

I barely remember him, but I havent seen Devils Rejects yet. So its pretty good??

Marroe 11-03-2005 08:52 PM

why couldn't this have been asked in one of the other 8,992 threads about this movie?

By the way...I'm all about Misfits, but all those "whoa's" and "oh's" in your sig look strange.

Somewhat off-topic, but if you want to see one of Dennis Fimple's early films, check out the excellent 70's Bigfoot entry, "Creature from Black Lake." A really fun movie with nicely drawn characters. Fimple stars as "Pahoo."

thnaks filmmaker2 i'll be sure to check that out. i realy liked him in house im sure he is great in Creature from Black Lake.

filmmaker2 11-05-2005 05:35 AM

I'm sure he was hired for "House" specifically because of "Creature from Black Lake." Fimple did a great job as one of two heroes (it's a "buddy" movie about two guys who take a van into Louisiana to look for Bigfoot and meet pretty girls). He also supposedly had a small part in Disney's "The Apple Dumpling Gang," which I haven't seen, but I would like to see that also, as I figure it's probably pretty good.

I don't think anyone has recognized how awesome newb's response is...

filmmaker2 11-05-2005 06:37 AM

No, I recognized it! It gets the stamp of approval:

I enjoy your new stamping routine. I would approve it, but that would be stealing a bit.

I dont recall any gandpa in the devils rejects....what part was he in? what was he doing?

filmmaker2 11-05-2005 08:09 AM

No no...the actor who played the character in "1000 Corpses" passed away after the movie was made;

And the Grandpa character seems to have vanished from the new movie, like he never existed...

I was at this year's Monster Mania convention in Cherry Hill, NJ, and someone asked this very question during the Devil's Rejects Q&A. Sid Haig was very good friends with the actor, Dennis Fimple, and the question really choked him up and wasn't answered very clearly at all.

Eddy Gein 11-05-2005 09:24 PM

Yeah thats pretty sad. and then Mathew McGrory (tiny) died just after rejects. but its weird i guess well have to wait for the dvd hopefully the 2 and a half hour documentry will explan.
