Sick Film Needed

OK - its almost time for my brother's birthday and I want to get him a really sick, brutal, depraved, and gory horror film. Now, mind you, he laughs at Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer - thought Audition "didn't have much pay off" and has been know to giggle during the Exorcist. So, I need something more harsh, brutal, and revolting than all these combined.

So, naturally I knew which group to turn to for help . . .

knife_fight 10-14-2005 02:12 PM

I guess a cliche answer would be Cannibal Holocaust or Ferox. but really any foreign cannibalism/zombie pic might work. I don't know how desensitized this person is.

Marroe 10-14-2005 02:41 PM

"I Spit On Your Grave"sickens me

The STE 10-14-2005 02:49 PM

Flowers of Flesh and Blood
He Never Dies (if you want something with a bit more story)

If you want depravity:
Ilsa: She-Wolf of the SS
Ilsa: The Wicked Warden
Anything by Jacopetti and Prosperi

Cannibal Ferox is a load of old pants, my grans underwear drawer is more disturbing than this film!
A depraved film would be almost any kevin costner flick

knife_fight 10-14-2005 04:23 PM

I don't doubt that

Thriller: A Cruel Picture has some pretty rough parts (don't get Thriller: They Call Her One Eye that version is trimmed down). Ichi the killer can be loads of gory fun like when the guy cuts his tounge off or when a liver then a spleen hit the wall then two loads of... yeah. Oh, and I agree with I Spit on Your Grave. Guinea Pig movies are pretty crazy too.

noctuary 10-14-2005 07:50 PM

The Guinea Pig series is probably your best bet. I would recommend Devil's Experiment. You could also try Irreversible. It's not a horror film, but it is extremely dark and depraved. I consider myself to be fairly hardened to these things, but there were some scenes in this film that were very difficult for me to watch.

filmmaker2 10-14-2005 10:49 PM

Why not "Wild Zero"? It's depraved and ultraviolent but cartoonish and funny, and it has a naked girl shooting at zombies when attacked in the shower. I mean, come on, it's a no-brainer. Or should I say a lotta-brainer? A......brainacopia?

scouse mac 10-15-2005 02:39 AM

Bad Taste, not scary but very funny including vomit drinking scenes

ultraviolent?

certainly a memorable film :p

But that would mean I'm a...a wimp-ass!

There is a german film called Necrophilia, i'll give three guesses to what its about!. I haven't seen it but i know its seriously fucking depraved unfortunately its hard to get hold of. If not than maybe 120 Days of Sodom might fit the bill, cant remember his name but the director was kicked to death by people who thought his film was too disgusting (i haven't seen this film either by the way)

Despare 10-15-2005 07:28 PM

120 Days of Sodom AKA: Salo? There's a critereon edition of this that's the most rare/valuable DVD in the world if I'm thinking of the right movie.

Prices on Amazon go up to $965 US, not including a bootleg.

It's about a little mouse, and his journey to an exciting new land...

knife_fight 10-15-2005 08:07 PM

somebody mentioned the Guinea Pig series. that stuff is nuts. if you can find it for rent, you're a lucky duck. some others I was thinking of were:
Maniac
2000 Maniacs
the Thrill Killers
and some others that for some reason I can't think of right now.

and to think it isn't even a complete version (unlike the UK BFI release)

I don't smoke anyways...

PR3SSUR3 10-18-2005 07:56 AM

You're thinking of Nekromantik - this and its sequel are both excellent films, as are the director's Schramm and Der Todesking.

A more agressive and less poignant corpse-love story would be Aftermath (Nacho Cerda/1994/Spain), though this would probably eject most people from most parties at high speed.

One of my favorite quotes:

"Society gets the films it deserves."

--Jorg Buttgereit

I actually never saw any of the man's films, but I read an interview with him, and when I read that comment I just started laughing.

gorefreak 10-20-2005 04:41 AM

How about some Fulchi movies? The unrated versions of most of his movies have some pretty nasty gore scenes.
