i want a SCARY movie!!!!!!!

I am looking for a scary movie. I'm not talking moderatly scary. Not nessicarily blood and gore. Something extremely and ungodly scary. I want to not sleep for a week. Something that will scare the heebee jeebees out of me. Any suggestions?

bloodrayne 09-02-2005 07:29 PM

Sorry Sweetums...Unless you're under the age of 12 (and haven't been an avid horror fan since the age of 4)...It just doesn't exist...

techy_the_kid 09-02-2005 07:32 PM

What is the scariest thing you've seen in the past few years?

techy_the_kid 09-02-2005 07:42 PM

Let's rephrase. I'm looking for a good horror movie with a good plot, not so low budget, and not so much blood and gore. At least not unrealistically.

bloodrayne 09-02-2005 07:48 PM

I realize that my answers won't help you to find what you're looking for, so I asked the people in my house right now...

Responses from:

Josh - 17 year-old male, not too jaded by an overabundance of horror: Wrong Turn

Richie - 21 year-old male, not too jaded by an overabundance of horror: The Ring

Alex - 10 year-old male, raised on Horror movies: The Grudge

Seri - 16 year-old female (17 in 5 more days), raised on Horror movies: 13 Ghosts and The Grudge

I hope that helps...Cuz it's all I got...

noctuary 09-02-2005 08:04 PM

It's difficult for me to actually think of a very scary horror movie. Maybe I'm just jaded, but not that many have much of an effect on me anymore. Have you seen Audition? That one actually is pretty scary, as long as no one spoils it for you.

However, the most disturbing movies I've seen are not horror, at least not by a narrow genre definition. Give Irreversible and Funny Games a try.

alkytrio666 09-02-2005 08:17 PM

To me, The Exorcist was downright scary. Disturbed my dreams, honestly. Besides that...I can't really help you. The first time I watched The Evil Dead some parts kinda "scared" (more startled) me.

The STE 09-02-2005 08:44 PM

Audition. It'll scare you into celibacy

MichaelMyers 09-02-2005 08:46 PM

Frailty.

filmmaker2 09-02-2005 09:08 PM

I've mentioned this before on other threads, and by golly I'll say it again...seek out "LEMORA" on DVD, it's hard to find at most local stores but it is out there, it's released by Synapse. Scary and creepy as hell, in my opinion. Not everyone will "click" with it, but a lot of people do click with it. Try watching it at two in the morning in an empty house!

LMFAO!!! Yeah, it just might. Audition is actually a good suggestion. It is slow, but I actually like the slow pace myself.

It's not a horror movie per se, but a lot of really deep down scary stuff is in Blue Velvet. I'd have to agree with Angra on Ju-On. It's so much more coherent, better and scarier than the Grudge. If you haven't seen too much hardcore horror, Hellraiser and House of a Thousand Corpses might actually prove scary. The Brood by David Cronenberg is also really intense. So is Videodrome. My fiancee tells me Silence of the Lambs, but I don't count it as a horror movie myself. I was very freaked out and disturbed by Nekromantik 2, although I loved the first one. Nekromantik 2 is one of the most chilling, bizarre experiences you could ever force yourself to endure. I'm not sure I'd recommend it though. You might find the first one scary.

spanky 09-03-2005 08:53 PM

Just turn on CNN. Scariest shit you'll ever see.

romper_stomper 09-22-2005 03:08 PM

exorcist 3-everybody talks about the first one,but this one is just as frightning in my opinion

Elvis_Christ 09-22-2005 09:12 PM

Hahahahahaha.... Slasherman, you suck! :D

Despare 09-25-2005 07:40 PM

A Tale of Two Sisters was pretty messed up but I don't think it was really that scary. I don't know, I'd watch Suspiria, From Beyond (not Fulci's The Beyond although that wasy good), The Serpant and the Rainbow, Candyman, Phantasm, 28 Days Later, Martin, Crazies, and I don't know... have you seen all those? Good movies but I can't think of the last movie that really scared me, maybe Lady in White when I was younger... not that I'm suggesting that as a scary movie now heh.

Zombee 09-27-2005 12:19 PM

The Exorcist
The Grudge
Orginal Amitiville Horror
and definately Jacobs Ladder

crazy raplh 10-03-2005 05:52 PM

Look for In the mouth of madness or *Necronomica* Misspelt that was. Those are scary I thought That didn't have alot of blood and gore just creepy shizzel,

Try The Silence of the Lambs.

Darklord666 03-08-2006 08:33 PM

Murder set pieces

Murder Set Pieces was disturbing. Also the J-horrors out creep all others period. Creepiest ever? I say Ju-On..Ringu..and Dark Water are creepy as hell. Also Toolbox Murders. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (old and new...especially new)..and Halloween part 1.

crazy raplh 03-08-2006 09:28 PM

The willies

VampiricClown 03-09-2006 03:29 PM

The only movie that ever really creeped me out, was "Dead Birds". And too any regular members, No, I'm not spamming this movie. I just really enjoyed it.

A word before I go though, Don't try making any sense out of the plot. It's pointless.

The_Return 03-09-2006 04:55 PM

- The Blair Witch Project
- Signs [though few will agree with that]

The_Return 03-09-2006 04:57 PM

Oh, and agreed on Dead Birds. If it wasnt so damned expensive, Id definatly have that in my collection. $30 at CD Plus!! Good movie, but not that good!
