Best Warewolve Movie

BEEN LONGING FOR A GOOD WAREWOLVE MOVIE TO COME OUT, BUT I GUESS IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN SO WHAT'S A GOOD OLD WAREWOLVE MOVIE.:D :D :D

There's...

American Werewolf in London
Dog Soldiers
The Wolfman
The Howling
Legend of the Werewolf
Silver Bullet

All very good werewolf movies imo.

You missed the best one: "Curse of the Werewolf" (1961, with Oliver Reed).

It's coming out on DVD later this year -- part of a Hammer Horror box set. It was out on laser and video previously, it's probably available in your local video store.

This thread will be followed later today by "BEST WAREHOUSE MOVIE," a thread for discussing movies shot entirely, or mostly, in warehouses. On hand will be the entire cast of "Demonic Toys."

Oh! And, also, I wanted to mention Paul Naschy, whose Waldemar the Werewolf character can occasionally be a lot of fun.

I used to think his films were cheesy and bad, and, well, maybe they are, I guess, but I really enjoy them anyway, especially "THE WEREWOLF VERSUS VAMPIRE WOMAN" aka "WEREWOLF SHADOW" .......that one's a hoot. Or should I say a howl?

hollywoodgothiq 08-23-2005 02:03 PM

My favorite Naschy-Waldemar movie is FRANKENSTEIN'S BLOODY TERROR -- a movie with werewolves and vampires but no Frankenstein!

Ginger Snaps is my personal favorite.

An American Werewolf in London and The Wolfman are my two favorites. But that one is in my top five. I actually like it a bit better than Dog Soldiers. I love the dialogue.

Austin mentioned Silver Bullet, I almost forgot about that movie.
I remember I liked it...but, fuck, I haven't seen it in SO long. Creeped me out when I was a kid, I know that.

Yeah, thatīs a really good movie. No question about the 80s being the highlight of Corey Haimīs career..... Poor guy.

This is a whole new breed of werewolf and a creature definitely to be feared.
It doesn't kill with it's teeth or claws, it prefers to use kichenware.

spoons, forks, spatulas etc.:D

zomb5150 08-24-2005 05:13 AM

The black and white "I was a teenage werewolf" starring: Michael Landon

noctuary 08-27-2005 11:32 AM

An American Werewolf in London is definitely my favorite. I thought the film was quite affecting, as it was very easy to feel both pity and horror at the plight of the main character.

Kreech 08-27-2005 12:59 PM

The hell with all of the previous suggestions. Metal Beast is gold.

p.s. Don't spend any money on renting or buying it.

I agree.
I think the best "looking" werewolves are in Underworld.

ItsAlive75 08-28-2005 08:06 AM

Dog Soldiers

The Brits made up for the werewolves in that flick, because I personally hate werewolf movies. I've always thought the werewolf was a lame monster... like the mummy.

Dog Soldiers.
Is this the movie where at the end they are in an old log cabin and there are 2 soldiers left ,and 1 gets bit and blows himself and the house up?
