if you find it cheap, yes.

Personally I liked the movie a lot, and it scares the crap out of me. I have a copy right here. You may have it if you like. No you may not! It's mine!

No seriously, the new Anchor Bay DVD is cool and even has a good documentary that will help you separate the facts from the fiction (the film is BASED on a true story, but often goes off in its own creative directions). Even the documentary is kinda scary, but more fascinating than scary. It's a weird story.

NO!!

filmmaker2 08-23-2005 07:31 AM

That was very mean of you to say.

hollywoodgothiq 08-23-2005 07:49 AM

On the contrary: it was not mean, only honest.

filmmaker2 08-23-2005 08:43 AM

I...I...I.......I liked it

(runs away and hides in shame)

No, actually I was responding to lbuie's post. lbuie's post was DEFINITELY mean...kind of...I think.

No, actually it wasn't.

Never mind!

slasherman 08-24-2005 02:56 AM

...long time since saw this one...I liked it back then....but what I can remember ...the ending was a little over the top.....nice breasts ;)

lbuie 08-24-2005 07:18 AM

Interesting.

What about the nifty prodding effects of them by an invisible, spectral "hand"?

Achieved by a powerful hairdryer off-camera, methinks.

filmmaker2 08-24-2005 07:49 AM

Oh no. Actually, that is the silicone-filled false body built by Stan Winston and James Kagel. It was operated from underneath the bed. I think it looks really nice.

EXTR3MIST 08-24-2005 07:59 AM

You've ruined my favourite wank-fantasy.

Thanks for nothing.

filmmaker2 08-24-2005 10:43 AM

Whoops, sorry there! Didn't mean ta do that.

Hershey still looks great today, though. I remember seeing a scene from "Drowning on Dry Land" which showed quite a bit of Ms. Hershey, in a certain sense, and by golly, I was surprised.

lbuie 08-25-2005 05:33 AM

I must say that effect was pretty good only if her boobs had been a little bit bigger!!!;) ;) ;)

hollywoodgothiq 08-25-2005 07:47 AM

Too much is never enough for a man for whom enough is too little.

EXTR3MIST 08-25-2005 07:51 AM

Profound.

Did you really edit Cinemafantastique?

hollywoodgothiq 08-25-2005 10:19 AM

No, they just put my name on the masthead and paid me, while I swilled vodka martinis in Monte Carlo and phoned in an occasional article or review ("the new Stephen King movie really blows...")

EXTR3MIST 08-25-2005 10:26 AM

I confess I've never read it, but have seen quotes from articles published there in various film reference books.

hollywoodgothiq 08-25-2005 10:54 AM

I've got some old back issues I'd be willing to sell -- cheap! ;)

that hairdryer thing could have worked though....

EXTR3MIST 08-26-2005 07:00 AM

I've seen the hairdryer (or something similar, blowy, anyway) effect used in a Jap CAT3 film, possibly Guts/Entrails of a Virgin/Beauty - insane films, if anyone wants to go there.
