I saw the trailer for this movie... Its based on a true story and it looks pretty creepy... Anyone else see this trailer?

Its a pretty good trailer, there's a blurb about an actual recording in the beginnning of the trailer... kinda makes me wonder how I could get my hands on that.

I've been checking out info on this movie as well and it does indeed look great. I can't wait to see it. Until I caught the trailer it seemed like a boring ass trial movie. I was thrilled to see that it is not.

I saw the trailer for this and it looks totally creepy. It is supposedly based on a true story which makes it a little creepier. I can't wait till this comes out. Supposedly the Catholic Church has a sound recording of this exorcism, has anyone else heard this and if so do you know where it is so I could hear it?

Looks good. I kind of worry thoguh that they slapped a PG-13 on an exorcism movie. I'll definately be there though.

Where did you see a PG-13 rating?

I mean my understanding is that any movie that deals with demonic and or devil realted themes has to work its ass off to get anything other than PG-13, hense crapy Spawn which was supposed to be R b/c of its themes.

I'm asking b/c I'm really tired of PG-13 horrors, I think they take something away from the movie that other wise would have been there had it been R. I mean just imagine a PG-13 Jason, probably wouldn't happen but who would have thought that AVP would be PG-13?

It says so right at the bottom of the website. Sucks to that.

In a way, Im glad it's PG13....now I wont need to bribe my dad to let me go:p

Actually its a little bit more than that, the movie is going to be like flash backs I think, b/c its going to be told from the the perpective of the priest who tried to perform the exorism. The priest is in jail and I think he is going to trial for the death of the girl b/c I know that she dies since they have a court trail and in some of the trailer they show that a lawyer tries to bring up psych disorderes to blam for Emily Rose's condition.

But I might not see this in theaters since its PG-13, that sucks major balls!

9 out of the 15 movies in my sig arent rated R, so Ill still check this out in theatres.

I didn't tell everyone how the movie will end, just watch the trailer its preeety obvious that the movie does not revolve around the exorism itself like "The Exorist," plus when I first saw the trailer it was on Comming Attractions on E! and the person doing the show introduced the trailer with the same info I stated earlier.
So everyone relax I didn't spoil anything.

I'm not dogging on PG-13 movies in general, personaly most of my favorite movies are PG and PG-13, but I feel that a movie that deals with Satanic themes deserves an R rating b/c of the types of themes it should explore. But the trailer is preety creepy so I might watch it.

me personaly was never into the exorcist cause i had been told it was a very scary movie and so i rented it then was getting ready to be scared but i laughed or sleppt the whole movie expecialy the part were she started stabbin her self with the croos but since this is based on a true story i might check it out

This is my biggest fear. I love The Exorcist (but in the same vane as a car wreck...I want to watch it everytime it's on...but scares the shit outta me...I just can't look away though).

Most movies don't get the same emotional response that The Exorcist gets out of me...so any movie that comes out with the same subject matter is going to be under a very critical microscope from me.

I hope this movie finds a way to seperate itself from the obvious comparisons.

NOTE: Based on an earlier post in this thread...I STILL don't get why The Exorcist makes people laugh. lol. I've heard that a few times now -- mainly from a younger audience watching it for the first time...may be outdated to them, I dunno. But seriously, even though it is an old movie...still scares the fuck out of me more than ANY horror movie made with all the blood/gore super special effects.

I agree with you the exorcist scares me to death, but i can't seem to change the channel. Hopefully this new movie will be good. I'm just scared to know what's actually true and what's not. I heard they have an actual tape of this girl being possed. Is that what we here on the trailer or is that there interpertation?

I completely agree about The Exorcist. No movie has frightened me more. And like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it is one of those films that fascinates me and repulses me at the same time. I agree, I can't tear my eyes from the screen. Which makes it one of the most effective horror movies ever made. If not the most effective. I find nothing at all funny about The Exorcist. And I actually had a guy tell me that The Ring was scarier than The Exorcist....huh? LOL I don't get that at all. I suppose everyone is different.

I don't know about the Exorcism of Emily Rose. I have seen the trailer and it looks like it could be okay, we'll see. But I don't see it having nearly the emotional impact of The Exorcist.

well since its pg-13 it must not have a whole lot of blood or cussing so im guessing its kinda just something you would like if into stories

i just have a question... i have never see the first exorcist but i've seen 2, 3, and the beginning so i can't say whether its gonna be as scary as the first one. is the first exorcist scarier than 2, 3, and the beginning?

o yeah... haha the exorcism of emily rose is based on a real story... that must have been hell to go through if it was real. i couldn't even imagine what it must have been like. but yeah the movie looks really good.

notice the word "based" it means something similar or believed to be true acctually happened doesnt mean the whole movie is true im just say cause that was crammed in my head wen i was little
