I fucking hated it. Nice to meet you...but then again, I hated ginger snaps even MORE...maybe he werewolf thing just doesn't appeal to me...although I DID like some of the howling, and american werewolf...maybe the werewolf thing is just dead, and anyone who actually likes these films is just desperately hoping that another GOOD one will come out one of these days...

Oh, and as for the topic...I'd rather NONE than narrowing it down to ONE, but if I HAD TO, I'd probably go with Shaun of the dead.

I really need to rent that (Shaun of the Dead). I also have to agree about the werewolf thing...they don't appeal to me either. I'm not really sure why...hmm...well maybe I am ;) But anyway;)

super funny, I had to buy it right away and Im one of those furgal people that waits for prices to go down. It was made well and written well. Simon Pegg was one of the writters he was also the star supposedly he is going to have a cameo in the Land of the Dead (zombie, fitting) anyways he was on this show spaced, great humor, if you download television shows Im not sure where you could rent it.

Yeah, I've seen spaced...not only is he in it, he co wrote it with the same guy that did shaun of the dead. Very funny, quirky, random series.

You're kidding, right?...I'm not really into werewolves myself, but Dog Soldiers fucking ROCKS!

I could never choose just one movie...

urgeok 06-03-2005 01:45 AM

Phantasm ... it has a little bit of everything..

Vodstok 06-03-2005 04:33 AM

Aliens.

That movie was like crack when i was 14. ive seen it more times than i can count (probably between 2-- and 300 by this point)

filmmaker2 06-03-2005 10:10 AM

Well, this may seem a typical choice, but I think the film would probably be "Dawn of the Dead."

If that one wasn't available, then alternates would be "Horror Express" or maybe "Count Yorga, Vampire." Or possibly "Curse of the Demon" or "The Incredible Melting Man."

IDrinkYourBlood 06-03-2005 10:21 AM

Halloween all the way for me. My alternets would include Day of the Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

given the title of the thread .. what do you think my answer would be to that question ??

MoonLit Meadow 06-03-2005 11:06 AM

As for my own choice, I have to go with one of my fav's....Fright Night...NO COMMENTS PLEASE ;)
It's entertaining, and while it's somewhat cheesy, the effects were really good for its day. In fact, they still hold up pretty well.

Hey, no one can really pick on fright night. To this day, when Amanda bearse turns into that freaky-ass vampire at the end, it scares the shit out of me....

urgeok 06-03-2005 11:14 AM

always been a favorite of mine ..
as a matter of fact i have a huge wall sized poster .. french version...

somewhere ..

dev!ls advocate 06-03-2005 11:16 AM

night of the living dead 90's remake, its an amazing movie... either that or dawn, day not so much...

orangestar 06-03-2005 11:18 AM

The Ring. It still scares me and I find it very entertaining no matter how many times I watch it. I always feel like Im the only one on the forum who likes it though...

alternates would include Pet Sematary, original House on Haunted Hill, or Final Destination 1 or 2

I also like Pet Sematary alot...it's not so much that it scares me (well..except for that zelda charachter) but the atmosphere is very creepy. :)

The_Return 06-03-2005 11:26 AM

My 1st chouce would be The Abominable Dr. Phibes, no question. Ive porobably seen it more than any other horror movie [Excluding the House on Haunted Hill remake, which would be another choice]. It's creepy, it's fun, it's Vincent Price!

Another possiblity for the same reasons would be Theatre of Blood.

Another would be Session 9. It would probably take me that long to figure the whole thing out...

I love Session 9. I have recommended that movie to everyone I know (which didn't work out so well for a friend that isn't much of a horror fan. She still hasn't forgiven me. ) That movie really played with my head the first time I saw it. Some really well-done, genuinely creepy moments.

Anyway, Evil Dead 2 would be my choice. It is all about Bruce, baby. :D

The STE 06-03-2005 08:15 PM

wait wait wait, is this on DVD? We get the DVD, or just the movie, no bonus stuff?

Just curious, either way I go with Shaun of the Dead. It's just so damned great (not top 100 great, but pretty close), but easy to watch, too.

Never really thought about that, but JUST THE MOVIE ;)

what is session 9 about? i might be the only one
that doesn't know that, doesn't hurt to ask

knife_fight 06-03-2005 08:32 PM

I think if it had to be a horror movie, it would be Army of Darkness (even though it's not really a horror movie) b/c that's the one I've seen the most anyway.

but, if it could be any movie it would be either Nightmare Before Christmas or Ghostbusters.

this reminds me of that comic "Lobo" where Lobo has one song piped straight into his brain on a non-stop basis. I've always wondered what my song would be, if I were in that position.

alkytrio666 06-03-2005 08:36 PM

An asbestos cleaning crew is hired to work in an old mental hospital. Weirdness and creepiness ensues. :D The ending is kind of abrupt, but very unusual and you are left with a "what just happened?" feeling.
